Hey, At Least He’s Got The Manilow Repertoire Down Pat

Just woke up.  Looks like Kovalchuk’s headed to LA.

Klessel

My key source in this situation believes it’s 80-20 Kovalchuk agrees to sign with the Kings by noon tomorrow west coast time.

Woops. I guess 80 percent doesn’t carry the same weight it used to.  Man, you just can’t find quality info like that for free on the internet anymore, you know?

Hahahahahahaha!

Seriously, is it October yet?  Does this feel like the l-o-n-g-e-s-t off season ever?

80-20 is my “ha” to words ratio in this post…think about it.

You can, but people will look at you funny. Happy knows what that feels like.

A bunch of reports say he’s signing with the Devils. Supposed presser tomorrow to announce it. Paul’s on top of it as usual.

Give Dwayne a break… he’s still suffering from “The Eklund Maneuver”... where they search for your brain by looking through your colon.

80-20…

“What is Eklund’s body fat percentage and IQ respectively?”

Now that the truth is out, was there any doubt?

Last offseason wasn’t this long, was it? (don’t say “we played more rounds”)

I’m tired of winning Stanley Cups on EHM.

And my soccer-fan-crazy-cousin agreed with me when I said the best sport event this year was Ice Hockey in the Olympics.

in all-too-familiar refrain for Tiger fans…wishing for October, just not because of baseball…oh well, still better than 2003…

anyway, seriously, is it freekin’ October yet???

Which one Herm, the SI one or the freeware?

If you have the SI one, you should try winning Memorial Cups or Kelly Cups or something instead…  wink

That reminds, I should fire up NHL EHM 2007 and do a Euro game or something ridiculous while I’m here home with the 2 month old muchkin….

Of course this offseason seems long, it ended two rounds earlier than it normally does for Wings fans.  wink  To be fair, this offseason sucked because the draft was a bit blah and the UFA market has been wretched to follow…

I got totally addicted to EHM 2007 when I first got my hands on it.  It really is something else starting at the very bottom and working up.

I finally made it to the NHL and got my hands on the Wild…took it as more of an entry level job.  Didn’t even realize I had Datsyuk until I played four or five games.

The SI one, I played the freeware until 2025 or something like that, then got tired of ties.

I never tried minor leagues, mainly because I don’t know much about them. Maybe I’ll try playing with the Medicine Hat Tigers because of God and Ozzie. I usually start at the bottom of the NHL, playing with the Thrashers or the Jackets.

Hey, at least it’s Inge this time.  I’d be worried if Zumaya somehow got injured while rehabbing from his latest injury.  Though I wouldn’t put it past his glass shoulder…

In other news, f*ck Modano and his baggage train:

http://blog.mlive.com/snapshots/2010/07/st_james_mike_modano_will_make.html

Looks like he’s not even working out, and is holding up negotiations with Helm and Abdelkader.  At this point it’s not about Ritola, or depth, or whatever.  Think about it long and hard and then tell me you want this guy on our team, after he makes us wait until goddamn August.  His attitude and his media-whore wife can go to San Jose to choke out the last few games of his career there.

BTW, can anybody in Vegas give me casino odds on Kovalchuk playing until he’s 45?

And if you haven’t seen it already, check out George’s rundown of Team Lidstrom from prospect camp:

Always fun to read Malik’s takes on the prospects.  Thanks so much for that link on Team Lidstrom (whom were coached by Jiri Fischer), Andrew.  Great find.
