just think how sweet it will be to skate the cup in pittsburgh in front of those f-in douchebags (with apologies to all bags o’ douche that may root for the non-fowldouche team).
f-it. i’m crushed.

I’m glad it ended in 3. I’m not sure I could have stayed up for a fourth OT. I’m getting old. Sigh.
I no longer think I am going to go to bed…which makes me even angrier about the outcome.

Turkleton… Please, you can’t possibly think that the Whiners extraordinaire are really going to win the next two? “MAF” played an amazing game and Ozzie was lost at times (as were his teammates) we’ve seen this in the past. The wings feel to much pressure at home and find it much easier on the road. I have a hard time believing that the Pens can match what they gave tonight.
Much credit though, their backs were against the wall and they cam e out and performed. The wings…. they choked. Great game, bulls**t ending. Well done Turk, enjoy. I get home to the D from out west on the night of game 6. Can’t wait to party like a rock star!

I have no complaints about that, but you have to admit that the Wings got the worst of the calls from hte refs though.
the 1st Z penalty - very questionable
the 2nd Cleary penalty - 50/50
If those calls were against the Pens, I’d probably be calling foul too…
blaming the refs is an easy out.
blame the Wings for giving up a goal with 25 ticks left, not being able to get the puck out of the zone…
unbelievable comeback by DET only to be trumped by Mad Max tying it up….
it’s not like the Wings didn’t have any chances in OT to win….they had at least double, maybe triple the scoring chances….
Posted by dr. turkleton on 06/03/08 at 12:05 AM ET
Sorry, that should be too…
Oh, and another thing….
How great is it to see our coach tell his boys to ignore the calls and just play. No whining in our world. Our boys just play. No matter what happens I am damn glad we have such a class coach and a hard working team to root for….
Go WINGS!!!

I really didn’t think they were going to tie it up after going down 3 to 2 on Rafalski’s goal….I’m not saying they WILL win the next 2…but, after tonite, who knows? I think the pressures still on DET, cause they don’t want to go to a Game 7, where tonites pressure [for both teams] will seem like a walk in the park.

I have to agree.. While I was kicking my cat that is exactly what I was lamenting…. F@*@ing clear the zone…
And rafalski just gliding along in front of the net on that play… although Talbot put a strong effort to push Oz away and bat the puck in…
we need to learn from these Pens… all their goals seem to come from right at the side of the net…
Not sure why we are afraid to crash the side of the net..

Wings just need to forget about this game, forget about Paul ****ing Devorski, forget about the last 40 secs of the 3rd, forget about Franzen not being able to clear the puck near the end of a game to save his life, forget about all those golden opportunity shots off the glass…
Babs just needs to take the boys back to that Pittsburgh resort tomorrow, get some massages, rest up, and be ready for Wednesday.

OK so they end it in the Igloo. Sucks for Detroit fans but it’s got to end Wednesday.

Sorry man, I disagree. The Wings have the nerves out of there system. They can go to Pitt and just play. Lose? No prob, we got one more game. You lose? Well that’s the end. In the playoffs there always seems to be a big psychological let down after fighting so hard to come back in a game and a series. Look at what we did to Bubbas jr. and sr. Yeah we got some nerves, but we thrived off of killing them in their barn. I know game 6 should be tough, but this team plays its best when they have a chance to silence people and end it on the road, especially in game 6. Pressure will be on the Pens to perform in front of there crowd. Oh yeah, and they know that home ice and a lead aren’t 100% safe.
sorry for the long posts..
I have been drowning my stress and sorrows in some pretty strong beer.

I was REALLY surprised they couldn’t clear the zone…it seems like in 5 on 5 situations, sometimes they simply, what we call in PIT, the Murphy flip [maybe he did that while a RW, too????]...
What kind of pizza were you eating????
SYKORA - DOMINOS….
wow. sorry, Ilitch.

Turk, you’re an ass.
Because you’re absolutely right.

um, no turk. neither were a penalty. not in any universe. it is very clear and everyone understands that you can crash the net if you have the puck. I’ve never in my life seen such blatant non-penalties called…especially twice in the overtime of a SCF. it was patently ridiculous and the referees should be fired.

for your reading pleasure, Turk:
69.6 Rebounds and Loose Pucks - In a rebound situation, or where a goalkeeper and attacking player(s) are simultaneously attempting to
play a loose puck, whether inside or outside the crease, incidental contact with the goalkeeper will be permitted, and any goal that is scored as a result thereof will be allowed.

First of all, this game wasn’t decided by officiating. So cut it out.
Second of all, nerves had nothing to do with winning and losing that game. Detroit had a lead with under a minute to go, and the Pens made a good play to take advantage of the extra attacker right in front of Osgood.
If Detroit doesn’t come back and take the lead after being down by two goals, then we can talk about nerves. Clearly they shook that because the ice was tilted toward the Pens’ end from the second period through the end of the game, save power plays and an occasional shift here and there.

no, but you have to admit the refs got in the way of the puck a lot - including the game-winning goal where it went off him and right to the Penguin behind the net.

No, they did have to call that one. It just sucks that the game ended that way. There were so many missed calls on both sides. Ridiculous Goaltender interference calls. Ah well. MAF was big for the Pens. That’s all I am going to say about that, I’m done being a good sport.
