Maybe indeed Hobbs has paid the price in full

Now out Malone too. NEED TO TAKE ADVANTAGE.
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor on 06/02/08 at 08:45 PM ET
That looked REALLY painful.
Posted by Incognetis from Delaware... Hi... I'm in... Delaware on 06/02/08 at 08:45 PM ET
No matter what, hate to see that. Hope he’s alright.

Err…alright meaning I hope he’ll BE alright.

ENORMOUS and BLATANT interference call on the back of the Wings’ net, and NO CALL.
unbelievable.
Posted by PaulinMiamiBeach on 06/02/08 at 08:46 PM ET
Damn, that 20 went quick. Woulda been nice to see a trip called when Pav went down.
Posted by Nate A from Detroit-ish on 06/02/08 at 08:47 PM ET
C’mon Wings lets go only 20 more minutes. Make them count. Capitalize on the missing 2 players!

SHOTS ON GOAL

Wow where is Gonchar hurt?
In playoff jargon? “Lower-body injury.” Probably lower legs or ankles, he went pretty hard into the end boards attempting to defend the last two-on-one.
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor on 06/02/08 at 08:48 PM ET
Jr, I was having Stevie Y flashbacks myself.
Posted by Gabriel from San Diego, CA on 06/02/08 at 08:48 PM ET
Orpick was obstructing Pavel there wah wah wah wah wah
Yet Eddie O says great defense. If that was Cindy, he would have said how the Wings got away with one. God I’m sick of him. This will hopefully be the last night I have to hear from him for a while.
Posted by A II R from Los Angeles, CA on 06/02/08 at 08:48 PM ET
I will siphon gas out of every car on my street at 3am tomorrow morning if the Wings can just score early in the third.

Most worthless segment on NBC - Douche giving advice on how to coach an NHL team. Jebus does NBC suck.

Glad I’m not the only one who caught that. Directly led to Pittsburgh getting a chance.

Not exactly a dream Game 5.
The refs are awful.
The Wings are playing terribly.
Etc…
I can’t believe this is happening
Posted by arelius19 from maryland… unforunately on 06/02/08 at 08:50 PM ET
It’s like the Wings are making up for all the turnovers they didn’t give up all season.
Nights like these, I wish I still drank. Or that I had a bottle of Scotch around so that I could start again.
Posted by Sadie from Ann Arbor, MI on 06/02/08 at 08:52 PM ET
Never rule out the refs…little Gary lurks.

Seriously. The LAST two people qualified to offer coaching advice are Mike Milbury and Pierre McGuire.

What’s the 411 on the pretty boy brought in to assist the bald guy and MillBurry? He’s a real addition to the mix…........

Oh my. The start to that period was horrible but the Wings finally started to play. Still way too many turnovers. What a save by Fleury. C’mon boys, the third period, crank it up another notch.
As a side note to Pens fans, I hope that Malone and Gonchar are o.k. I hate to see people get hurt.
Jennifer, pass me the bottle!

They should have to disclose their stats before being allowed to discuss this stuff so that the uninitiated know what a bunch of hooey they’re spouting.

I can’t take it. Malkin basically pins our guy to the net and no call. Maltby nods at their guy and it’s two minutes. Not that it matters, Z and Dats look like they have cement around their skates and Fleury is in a zone it seems. Ugh, ugh ugh this two month emotional ordeal is almost too much.
Posted by TDeters on 06/02/08 at 08:55 PM ET
I like Hrudy. Tho he just said Franzen and Filppula have been quiet this game.
Franzen, so-so. Filly? Out-frickin-standing. He just doesn’t have any points to show for it.

+1…like quizzing Jack Kevorkian with Life Insurance questions…

If we can scored early in the third period, I will forgive my “emo” stepson for…. being so damn “emo”
Posted by dougie on 06/02/08 at 08:56 PM ET
have i ever expressed how much I hate NBC’s coverage?
wings looking better and better as the game goes on. they get one goal and then it’s up to the team that wants it most.
no matter how you slice it, I’d still rather be us than them.
TIME TO FOIL UP…here comes the third…
Posted by disch from bat country on 06/02/08 at 08:57 PM ET
I hate the playoffs. C’mon, guys you have got to convert on these chances this period.
LET’S GO RED WINGS!!!
Posted by hockeychic from Denver, CO on 06/02/08 at 08:57 PM ET
Jennifer, pass me the bottle!
(Looks guiltily at the near empty bottle…) I’ll have to fetch more from the drinks car. Here have a pacifier till I get back!

Wings have owned the 3rd period vs Pens, we need it tonight. It will be effort effort effort, a Babcock game.
Wings could have several more goals, so could Pens. Ozzie has saved our bacon.
D is nervous, passing is the worst I’ve seen all season.
Posted by RWBill from the Land of 12 in 12. on 06/02/08 at 08:57 PM ET
Dude. Seriously. I don’t need to know when Sally’s ready.
Seriously.

RWBill, the passing is horrible. It’s like pass, pass, turnover. Is the ice bad at the Joe?
It’s gut check time.
O.k. Jennifer, don’t make me wait too long.
My daughter just called me and said, “Mom, please don’t have heart failure.” I couldn’t reassure her on that one. She is at her grandparents house and is making them watch the game. Another Wings fan!!
Posted by hockeychic from Denver, CO on 06/02/08 at 08:59 PM ET
My cat has paid in full;
Wings score early, and then its on!!!
Faith people, faith!!

Oh look, that no-tallent hack from Nickleback is in the crowd with a Cheli jersey. Bad juju.

Any word on Gonchar or Malone? Nothing from CBC that I’ve heard.
Posted by jrl123 on 06/02/08 at 09:00 PM ET
I love the goalie commercial! “Your mamas so ugly… she made an onion cry.” Gotta love it. lqtm

This is my daughter’s text explanation of what “Emo” is:
“Like Gothic and sad and depressed like slit my wrists and leave me in the tub”
Posted by RWBill from the Land of 12 in 12. on 06/02/08 at 09:01 PM ET
Both Gonchar and Malone due back.
Datsyuk and Zetterberg must step up this period.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 06/02/08 at 09:01 PM ET
Wings been building towards getting there sh$% together. Third period. Their game to lose.
I’m still sitting upright here in the Hasek…but I have gone to a sippy cup for my martini’s.
.......will not go fetal, will not go fetal….......

Brian Burke had a brief interview on CBC. Super smart dude…and he even apologized for taking attention away from Det & Pits.
