I Tried The High Road Again. Crazy, But It Still Sucks.

I’ve decided I’m not going to complain about the officiating for the rest of this series.
But Saturday night, after it’s over…maybe Sunday morning? We’re going to have a little chat, you and I, a little confab to discuss just how pathetic this has been.
We’re going to talk about a Pittsburgh player skating right by Dennis LaRue while he’s pretending not to count, and we’re going to discuss a blatant two hander to Johan Franzen’s head, and Hal Gill. But we’re going to wait until Sunday so we don’t have to hear the….you know what? Screw it. Let’s talk about it now.
I don’t give a flying fu** what the reaction to this statement is going to be. I don’t care that Pens fans are going to copy, paste and comment here and anywhere else when I say this, or that any other group of Wing haters will use it as an example of our “elitist” views and our feelings that we’re “owed something.”
Ready for it? Good.
The Detroit Red Wings are going to win this motherfu**er and they’re going to do it despite a blatant league agenda to arrange circumstances that would hand the Cup to Sidney Crosby and Pittsburgh.
Game 3 is the most glaring example we’ve seen of it. You’ve seen the images, but I’ll show you again. Look at Dennis LaRue. He’s staring right at Eaton as he skates off. Staring right at him.
Caps fan put that up over on the empire main page.
You may have heard the rumblings by now, that one of the linesman actually said something to a Pens player. Something to the effect of, “you’ve got too many”, instead of blowing his whistle.
Apparently, Wing players heard it. If that’s the case? Stand by. Because this whole “conspiracy theory” is going to blow up. If the Wing organ-I-zation goes public with this, that an official actually warned a Pittsburgh player of an infraction rather than call it? Yep. Stand by.
It is a Blatant. League. Agenda. How does Johan Franzen get crosschecked, in the head, in front of a referee and it doesn’t get called? How does Jonathon Ericsson get whistled for the most candy-ass interference call of the series, but Hal Gill is allowed to hold up every single Wing player crossing into Pittsburgh’s zone chasing a dump in?
There is nothing more frustrating than this. Nothing. No feeling in the world is quite so useless than watching what’s happening and not being able to do a frigging thing. Has there been a statement from the league about the too many men thing? Have they acknowledged it at all? I haven’t seen it. If not, why?
And what of Kunitz’ hit? We’re just completely ignoring hits to the head now? Any statement on that? No? Tell me, if that had been Kronwall crosschecking Gary’s Baby Boy in the head would that have at least warranted a penalty, if not a suspension? Oh, and what the hell…how about Malkin and Zetterberg, while we’re at it. Forget the instigator rule, the “rescinded suspension”. How about the fact that before he started tossing his weak ass lefts and rights Malkin used his stick to attack Zetterberg? Let’s just overlook that, eh Gary? God, Bettman, you’re a frigging joke.
It’s an agenda. Is the “fix in”? I swear to god I wish I could type that. But I can’t. I can’t because it’s too hard to believe. But something’s rotten. And it’s not just poor officiating. Nobody can be this bad, this consistently, not when they’re supposed to be the best at what they do.
And here’s one more thing. The Wings are gonna win this and they’ll do it to spite the league. There is no doubt in their mind, just like there is no doubt in ours, that whispered directives have resulted in some horrendous “mistakes”, and they’re going to win so that all summer they can share a chuckle that the league tried to do bad things when the lights went down on the cell block, only to find that the skinny guy in red wasn’t going to resist so easily.
I tried to hold off on this. I did. For 24 hours I was a good boy and tried to stay “above it all.” But I don’t have it in me and all I can do is hope the Wings are as furious as the rest of us. Gary Bettman’s trying to take the block of cheddar they’ve earned and hand it to someone who doesn’t deserve it. Do the Wings understand that? Can they rally around that?
Yes. This bitch is done on Saturday. In Detroit. In Hockeytown.
This thing is finished like it should have been last year. In 5 games.
Stanley skates on Saturday motherfu**ers.
2 to 12 and suck on it Gary. Looking forward to seeing you waddle on the ice to the chorus of 20,000 boos you little pisspot.

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
