I Tried The High Road Again.  Crazy, But It Still Sucks.

I’ve decided I’m not going to complain about the officiating for the rest of this series.

But Saturday night, after it’s over…maybe Sunday morning?  We’re going to have a little chat, you and I, a little confab to discuss just how pathetic this has been.

We’re going to talk about a Pittsburgh player skating right by Dennis LaRue while he’s pretending not to count, and we’re going to discuss a blatant two hander to Johan Franzen’s head, and Hal Gill.  But we’re going to wait until Sunday so we don’t have to hear the….you know what? Screw it.  Let’s talk about it now.

I don’t give a flying fu** what the reaction to this statement is going to be.  I don’t care that Pens fans are going to copy, paste and comment here and anywhere else when I say this, or that any other group of Wing haters will use it as an example of our “elitist” views and our feelings that we’re “owed something.”

Ready for it?  Good.

The Detroit Red Wings are going to win this motherfu**er and they’re going to do it despite a blatant league agenda to arrange circumstances that would hand the Cup to Sidney Crosby and Pittsburgh.

Game 3 is the most glaring example we’ve seen of it.  You’ve seen the images, but I’ll show you again.  Look at Dennis LaRue. He’s staring right at Eaton as he skates off.  Staring right at him.

image

Caps fan put that up over on the empire main page.

You may have heard the rumblings by now, that one of the linesman actually said something to a Pens player.  Something to the effect of, “you’ve got too many”, instead of blowing his whistle.

Apparently, Wing players heard it.  If that’s the case?  Stand by.  Because this whole “conspiracy theory” is going to blow up.  If the Wing organ-I-zation goes public with this, that an official actually warned a Pittsburgh player of an infraction rather than call it?  Yep.  Stand by.

It is a Blatant. League. Agenda.  How does Johan Franzen get crosschecked, in the head, in front of a referee and it doesn’t get called?  How does Jonathon Ericsson get whistled for the most candy-ass interference call of the series, but Hal Gill is allowed to hold up every single Wing player crossing into Pittsburgh’s zone chasing a dump in?

There is nothing more frustrating than this.  Nothing.  No feeling in the world is quite so useless than watching what’s happening and not being able to do a frigging thing.  Has there been a statement from the league about the too many men thing?  Have they acknowledged it at all?  I haven’t seen it.  If not, why?

And what of Kunitz’ hit?  We’re just completely ignoring hits to the head now?  Any statement on that?  No?  Tell me, if that had been Kronwall crosschecking Gary’s Baby Boy in the head would that have at least warranted a penalty, if not a suspension?  Oh, and what the hell…how about Malkin and Zetterberg, while we’re at it. Forget the instigator rule, the “rescinded suspension”.  How about the fact that before he started tossing his weak ass lefts and rights Malkin used his stick to attack Zetterberg?  Let’s just overlook that, eh Gary?  God, Bettman, you’re a frigging joke.

It’s an agenda.  Is the “fix in”?  I swear to god I wish I could type that.  But I can’t. I can’t because it’s too hard to believe.  But something’s rotten.  And it’s not just poor officiating.  Nobody can be this bad, this consistently, not when they’re supposed to be the best at what they do.

And here’s one more thing.  The Wings are gonna win this and they’ll do it to spite the league.  There is no doubt in their mind, just like there is no doubt in ours, that whispered directives have resulted in some horrendous “mistakes”, and they’re going to win so that all summer they can share a chuckle that the league tried to do bad things when the lights went down on the cell block, only to find that the skinny guy in red wasn’t going to resist so easily.

I tried to hold off on this.  I did.  For 24 hours I was a good boy and tried to stay “above it all.”  But I don’t have it in me and all I can do is hope the Wings are as furious as the rest of us.  Gary Bettman’s trying to take the block of cheddar they’ve earned and hand it to someone who doesn’t deserve it.  Do the Wings understand that?  Can they rally around that?

Yes.  This bitch is done on Saturday.  In Detroit.  In Hockeytown.

This thing is finished like it should have been last year.  In 5 games.

Stanley skates on Saturday motherfu**ers.

2 to 12 and suck on it Gary.  Looking forward to seeing you waddle on the ice to the chorus of 20,000 boos you little pisspot.

OK. We’ll agree to disagree, fair?

Come back after the game / series and we can “discuss” the Wings triumphs despite the “challenges”.

GO WINGS!!!

Again for the learning challenged.

Both hands are on Hossa’s stick lifting upwards on Dupuis’s stick just below his hands. This is called a stick lift which is not (on most days) a penalty. It’s not a hook or a slash either.

if you whiny ***** were half as smart as you think you are, you’d know that pittsburgh had NHL hockey before detroit did.

keep masturbating to the myth of the original six.  there’s no such thing.

I will beat the ever loving sh!t out of every Pen(i)s fan I meet until I find you, you shameless little pr!ck.  Out of all the little toads trolling around on all of the internet, we found the worst.

There are screenshots all over the internet of detroit players grabbing the shirts of pens players, along with using the free hand to hold back pens players trying to skate around.  Maybe you should look at it from both sides.  The NHL has a huge problem here and its gotten progressively worse as the playoffs have went on.  Call the same game through out the year and then NHL may get some credibility for the first time ever. The NFL does it.  Sure they miss calls from time to time.  But they do not hold back from calling pass interference calls even though its the super bowl.  The officiating has been bullshit for both sides.  Ovechkin should have been suspended for the knee to knee hit, as should of Cooke in the Washington Series.  Zetterberg should have been called for covering the puck in the crease twice.  Malkin should have been suspended as the rules state, and all of the obstruction and holding should be called along with elbows to the head and too many men on the ice.  These games have been a F**king disgrace to watch.

Not going to argue with that. Good points.

What erks me is the ignorant “fan(s)” spewing unsupported, non-factual garbage just for arguments sake. Please, don’t waste our time. If you want to talk hockey, let’s talk hockey based on what is observable on the ice.

Zetterberg should have been called for covering the puck in the crease twice.

i’ll give you the one where he put his hand over it when it was on Ozzie’s back, i even said it out loud while watching the game at the DET airport…but the second one, he was lying down behind Ozzie blocking the shot and the puck went under him (not his hand) what was he supposed to do at this point beside lay there?  what would anyone do?  It’s not the first time a player has laid down to block a shot behind the goalie…I don’t agree that the second “no call” was a bad one.  But in either case, Z did exactly what any player with half a brain would do.  He put himself in the best defensive position possible.  You have to credit him for that.

So let me get this straight…the Pens have 6 guys on the ice and don’t score and don’t get called on it.

The Wings cover the puck in the crease in game one and it doesn’t get called either.

In game two Hossa hooks Dupuis and deters him from icing the puck on the PK.  Result? Detroit goal…winning goal.

Shut the hell up

how dare you a PENS fan come on a Wings forum and tell Red Wing fans to shut the hell up ...  go back to what ever hole you crawled out of

Another poor assumption from another lost Pittsburgh soul.

Actually, most of the original six fans know that the NHL had a team in Pittsburgh, along with Ottawa, Quebec, Hamilton, the Maroons in Montreal and a couple of others. The original six refers not to the charter member teams of the league but the teams that survived the financial difficulties of the great depression and WW2 and continue to play today.

Yup, the refs suck.  Get used to it.  It’s been this way since… well earliest tremendous, series deciding blown call I can think of is Brett Hull vs. the Sabers.

Then again, that’s about as early as I can remember hockey.

Just as blatant as the crosscheck to Fransens head was Cooke’s kick to Osgood’s head.  I sent and email to the NHL and asked them to forward it to Collen Campbell with a youtube clip of it.  They say that they will respond within 48 hours, but I’m not holding my breath.  LETS GO RED WINGS!!!!  Wrap it up in 5.

wow…just wow…how about hank z closing his hand on the puck twice in the first 2 games and neither time it gets called?  There are screen shots of players from the wings holding the out stretched jerseys of pens players….its been bad, but bad on both side, you ignorant pr*ck

Hahahahahahaha.

Let me regroup. Wait for it, wait…hahahahahahahhahahahahaha.

Are you god damn serious? Game 4. Penguins come out and smack the Wings. That’s all fun and good. Good stuff. Great game by the boys. They looked like the better team for most of the game.

Seriously, my man, I’d like to see you complain about the officials after this one. Do you realize how many penalties the Wings got away with tonight? Seriously. I could probably rewind this game and come up with a solid 15+ plays that could’ve been called a penalty. And, to make it worse, a whole bunch them were quite dirty (calling Kirk Maltby, Kirk Maltby).

Red Wings fans complaining about officiating? Lets take a minute to let that sentence digest. Just repeat it a few times and see how it sounds. Red Wings fans complaining about officiating. Officiating? We’re talking about officiating here? Please. Try running a system that isn’t predicated off of ‘subtle’ cheating. Try getting scum-of-the-earth types such as Mr. Maltby and Mr. Kronwall to play the game like real men.

You, sir, suck. This blog sucks. The officials suck, yeah, but not quite in the direction that you were hinting.

You fail. Not only did you fail, but you failed miserably.

You can have that cheap hack Maltby. Come on KK..Post some more nonsense…
You have no answer for Malkin. Staal either, for that matter. Zetterberg is wore out and Hossa is playing scared.
PENS IN 6.

Yeah, way to look the other way, Bettman… at that hack at Crosby’s back.

Guess that beautiful tic-tac-toe finish was the refs’ doing too? And of course the refs made Staal score too—oh wait I forgot that was SHORTHANDED. Man if only Detroit could get a call now and then. Shameful. Just shameful.

Keep on whining Kukla, the Pens will keep on winning.

lol…all this whining about officiating and the Wings get four power plays to the Pens 3 in Game 4.  But wait!  not only do the Red Wings not get A SINGLE SHOT in what was essentially a four minute power play, but they also managed to give up a shorthanded goal!  Oh, and did I mention the Pens took advantage of their PP time, going 2 for 3?  Maybe Eminem will be at Game 5 to pump up the crowd….or they could have “Gang Night” at the Joe Louis Arena.  Free gats given to every gang member under the age of 18.  Mwahahahahhaa

The funniest thing about the Wings and their fans complaining bout the reffing…they don’t want to hear about Henkris Zettergood, the incredible two headed/four armed/four legged Siamese twin goaltender who not once but twice in successive games committed direct violations to rule 55c of the NHL and yet NO penalty shot was called for the Pens…let’s say the Pens score on those and then play to tie a one goal game…and they DO play differently when it’s a one goal game…even the great god Babcock has said this himself…oh and how about the no awarded goal for Kunitz….wow the refs sure do love the Pens…

You also don’t like when your players get roughed up one way or another but feel it’s just hockey when Cronwall left his feet to try and get Malkin…or when a Pens player gets an elbow or a stick to the face…it happens every game on both sides get over IT and yourselves…

BTW: I really hated the 6 men no-call too…I don’t want even up calls to right previous wrongs, whether real or imagined…I just want to see hockey…at it’s best…
