I Went To Church Incognito.  Why?  For The Live Blog.

Oh yes he did.  The Chief whipped out a Vincent Furnier lyric for a live blog.  That, in itself, should indicate just how important I (back to the first person, thanks) feel tonite’s game is.

Why is it important?

Because I have to invent reasons to stay up for the late, late games.

Don’t know Vince?  Oh alright.  Alice Cooper.  And he’s from Hockeytown bitches.

It’s a Live Blog and your objectivity, tact and mild manners are more than welcome.

A couple of insider notes from Mike Chen at Battle of California:

-Joe Thornton’s groin injury seems more obvious with each game. He simply doesn’t use his legs or lower body to protect the puck the way that he normally does, and assuming he didn’t just revert into a craptacular player over the off-season, I’m assuming this is the lingering effects of his injury.

-For all you King fans…um…well, I see what you were complaining about with Rob Blake.

Man, that was just a mess of typos.  ‘Being’=‘begin,’ and ‘Speaking of Scotty, HE never would have…’  Carry on.

WTF is up with this team?

I thought he did that to Maltby and that’s why Kopy is playing much better?

Still.  He may need to do just that to one of the top four D.  I’m tired of giving up thirty or more shots a game.

And we need to make room when Cheli needs to come off the shelf. Soon?

I dunno, MO, I got it from a Tom Waits song.  I’m from Michigan.  We don’t say it’s ‘cold,’ we say it’s a ‘temperate summer.’

I’d heard the brass monkey one before, but to a kid who grew up with the Beastie Boys (and Mad Dog 20/20…er, Brass Monkey), it just sounds a bit weird.

We still gotta chance here, but have to PLAY!

Wings look like Rocky in the first Clubber Lang fight.  Luckily, the movie isn’t over yet.  They need Drake to come out of retirement and challenge guys to races on the beach, then we’ll kill those bastards!  Hopefully a coach doesn’t die in the process.
