Tough day and all our thoughts go to the Army families on Ft. Hood. I’m kicking this thing off and bowing out.
Go Wings.

apitan?
apitan = capitan?
” ... capitan of the Pens is “frizz-laden loon”. ” ?
(At first I thought it was me but then I couldn’t find a match for “apitan” on Dictionary.com. Whew.)

I miss Stevie.

Dallas is leading 1-0 after 2.
They are using a very effective, and disciplined break out that has VAN stymied.
Corey Schneider is keeping Vancouver in the game.
SOG Dallas 40, Vancouver 17
Switching to CHI game between periods.

Chicago is really sucking it up. We’re rooting for the Dive here? How the worm has turned.

Av’s just made it 3-2, 2nd of B2B for CHI, may have something to do with the meltdown.

Chicago is being outshot, currently 17-8
Dallas just pulled ahead 2-0, Vancouver played last night also.
Vancouver answers, and it is under a long review.

No luck. They did have the one up where he was talking about wanting to come back from his injury in the finals and the reporter asked if he would play wing and he said “wing, goalie, defenseman, I don’t care; I just want to play”

As soon as you cross the border, it drops to the teens. Duh.
Besides, what Canadians consider cold (or even our neighbours along the border) is far different from the rest of America.

We get cold down here in Kansas. I looked earlier and saw that it probably wasn’t going to drop below 40(5?) even at night. I usually don’t bother with a jacket unless it’s in the 30s.

Who wills their team to the Cup on only one leg?
I’ll tell you who—Sidney Cro….. oh. Yeah.

I enjoyed both games, not much commenting though, I had other projects going and a couple of drop in visitors. I hope Ladd is OK, they said he was bleeding a lot. Any word on his condition?

Honest to god I’m not (all that) bitter, and plus we’re boyz and all so I’ve got no beef with you, but for fuch’s sake a Brian Rafalski empty netter is sending you to the *#$%@& Hockey Hall of Fame. I still can’t believe this. I hope that every night before you go to bed you fellate a first aid dummy wearing a #28 sweater while looking into the eyes of Emilio on this avatar.

And what’s with the Hawks and these horrifying skate incidents? Who was it during the playoffs ... Burish? 16 years watching and I still can’t believe people don’t die weekly playing this game.

That the Wings are in the thick of things at the top of their division after the start they had is awesome. I love Kenny. “Who’s going to run away with the division? Chicago? Are you *#$%@& kidding me? Get the *#$%@& out of here.”

Well, I could start doing that, but the Datsyuk sweater’s been on there so long that I’m not even sure it’ll come off at this point. Maybe I’ll just put the Raffi sweater over it.

What do you mean by “sending you to the *#$%@& Hockey Hall of Fame”? He’s not giving a speech. He’s not being *#$%@& inducted, dude.

Maybe not,but there’s only one letter’s difference between inducted and indicted, so the weekend may hold promise yet.

Did you sleep at all, JJ? You were here when I crashed and still here when I woke up. You better bring the energy tonight, bitch, because I’m going to make some serious noise for the Wings and THE Captain.
Keep an ear out for Let’s Go Red Wings chants, 19. I can usually get them going particularly late in the first period and second period. I am even going to try and get a “Stevie Yzerman”-clap-clap——clap-clap-clap cheer going. That one may actually have Leafs fans joining in as Yzerman gets big time love in Toronto. Local fans will even praise my Yzerman jersey and The Captain.
As the game progresses a couple of things will happen. First, the Wings fans will get more vocal and join in the cheers as the opening period winds down. By this point we will drawn the ire of Leafs fans who will boo our chants or try a meager “Go Leafs Go” to shut us up.
After the first intermission, booze will be lubricating the crowd more. The Wings chants will get louder, maybe even being heard on TV now, and the Leafs fans will get more pissed off and really start trying to out-chant us. Listen for a crescendo on TV of “Go Leafs Go” chants throughout the second.
By the start of the third, the crowd will be fully lubricated. The Leafs fans, having heard Red Wings chants all game in their barn, will be ornery. As soon as I get a Wings chant started, my entire section will start drowning out our chants with Leafs chants. This will spread arena-wide and you’ll hear ALOT of Leafs chants on TV as Leafs fans finally find their voices. This may be the loudest the ACC will get all year, trust me. I piss off the locals (in a good spirited way for both sides) that much.
There will be exceptions. If the Wings build up a huge lead, I’ll lay off rubbing salt in the wound. Same if the Leafs have a huge lead, Wings fans won’t join the chants.
I’ve started over 100 arena-wide chants through the years in Toronto. Now it’s time to get an arena-wide Yzerman chant going.
Celebrate the Stevie, bitches.
