I had every intention of going with Seger. But..I gave it some thought this morning and I’m thinking it’s not time for a change. Lightfoot got us here and he’ll get us home. I love that line, and was going to save it for the Finals, but thought today was a good time to break it out.
It’s a Game 5 Live Blog. In a musty Joe Louis, 20,000 are praying for a trip back to where the Wings belong.

I really hate the playoffs. I’m listening to a guy named Trevor gloat about a goal. Worse than that, he’s gloating about a second-intermission lead.

Well said…where the hell is the intensity!! Waiting until the last 3-4 minutes of the period to step it up is not going to get them a win.

I’m fully expecting the usual here. More even-up play and then, magically, under the last five minutes, the Wings will wake up and say, “Hey, hockey - we remember how to play this.”
It’s tougher to do that with this batch of monkeys for Senior - as a buddy of mine told me about them, “They play for a tie from the get-go.” So with a one-goal lead, expect four across the blue line and one cherry picker the rest of the way.

I’ve completely banned all my juju as of now. I’ve gotten rid of it all. “Lucky” shirt, gone. “Lucky” hairstyle, gone. Everything “lucky” is gone. It was tainted last game.
A solid 20 is all we need. Come on 20 minutes of power…

Ok, so the power went out in our neighborhood right before the game started and I live in the Cincinnati area so I can’t get the game on the radio. I was pissed off yelling at the power company on the phone and then I finally get my power back on and I see we’re down 2-1 at the end of the second??? What the F? I was stressing so bad to see the game and then I see this. UGH. Come on. Someone get me a drink because I think I’m driving the stress train.

The Hockey Gods must be appeased. There needs to be a sacrifice…sooooooo I am willing to give up my seat on the Hasek, while it’s still moving and not post anymore until the playoffs are over. Seriously, but only if we get a win TODAY. I will still lurk but will not post until after the Cup run is finished. I HATE THE PLAYOFFS.

Somehow the hat I wore during the Kick to the Groin season made it up to the kitchen before game 4. I’ve thrown it down into the basement where it belongs.
I’ve still got the dog’s eyes as an offering -poor dog bought it during the Bubba series- but they’re for games where the Wings face elimination.

Man what did we do to make the hockey gods so upset? Lidstrom fakes out two Stars, but Raffy’s shot can’t make it through. That was a goal too I think, perfect Homer tip. We aren’t getting any bounces today.

I think they need to put Kronwall and Stuart out there with the circus forwards. Kronwall gives us the best chance of getting a goal.

Nothing is going right today.
