When asked what it would mean to see his name on the Stanley Cup, Babcock said he never used to get close enough to see the different names on the hallowed trophy.

That is, until a visit to the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, where Babcock spent considerable time reading some of the names on the Stanley Cup.

“I’m not thinking about that. I’m not thinking about my name,” said Babcock, who suddenly stopped and was visibly moved.

Babcock quickly composed himself and took a swig of water.

“That’d be nice,” Babcock said.
