Khan(!) Answers The Mail…Maybe

I love the “ask the beat writer a question and have your answers published” features.  But, I’m always just a little skeptical.  Did “Judy” really script a grammatically perfect question regarding the salary cap and its ramifications on the Wings’ custodial crew?

Whatever. Maybe I’m just overly cynical today.  Maybe Ansar Khan is really monitoring his email and maybe Wing fans are really writing him consistently.  Maybe they’re sad and lonely and Khan(!) is their cyber soulmate, there to answer those Wing-related questions that keep them tossing and turning.  This week?  Jack, Cam, Chris, Dan, S.J., Steve and Pat (no hometowns listed) put our Deep Digger Captain on the spot.

Q: What is the drawback of making Anson Carter a Red Wing?
—Cam

What’s the benefit? Sure, he’d provide some offense, but he’s a soft player and a defensive liability who can’t stay in one place for long. There seem to be a lot of people panicking about the Wings’ lack of movement this summer. But, really, what’s the rush? Why waste valuable cap space (they have between $4-$6 million) on somebody you don’t like?

More thought provoking queries and deep answers here.

About Abel to Yzerman

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977.  No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y.  Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation.  There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature.  Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
