Khan(!):  Uncle Mike’s Shaking Things Up

This.  Abbadabawhackforthedaddyol on a line with Datsyuk and Hossa?  Two years ago when he was trolling the sorority houses in East Lansing could that kid have ever imagined something like that?

Khan(!)

Mike Babcock used Justin Abdelkader on one of the top lines, with Pavel Datsyuk and Marian Hossa.

“It’s pretty awesome, playing with two of the best players in the world,’’ Abdelkader said. “I’m excited, if the opportunity comes. You never know, the lines can always change. I just have to prepare myself and be ready for whatever situation I get put in.’‘

And while Shea Webber’s been golfing? Andreas Lilja’s been getting better.

General manager Ken Holland said defenseman Andreas Lilja is getting closer to being ready to play, but still there is no timetable for his return. He’s been out since Feb. 28 with headaches and concussion-like symptoms.

“I don’t know what the process is right now, but he’s way ahead of where he was 2-3 weeks ago,’’ Holland said.

“Way ahead,” eh?  Do you play him tomorrow if he’s cleared?

Also, Babcock apparently said he’s considering giving Charlie Buckets a bit more time on the PP.  Said if the tips aren’t going in he’s got to look elsewhere.

Oh, and if that sends Tomas Holmstrom into a psychopathic rage?  Woops.  Watch him sit Homer the first two power plays tomorrow just to really piss him off.

About Abel to Yzerman

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977.  No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y.  Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation.  There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature.  Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
