Kopecky’s Turn To Sit

Deep Digger Captain Ansar Khan(!) reports Chris Chelios will be a healthy scratch in favor of Brad Stuart tomorrow night, and that the rotation keeps spinning.  Tomas Kopecky will sit too as Kris Draper makes his return after a (misguided) one game absence.

Oh…and a certain scumbag chimed in as well.

The long-time Wings antagonist expects the typical reaction from the Joe Louis Arena crowd.

“No different than what it used to be,’’ Lemieux said. “Don’t expect to become a fan favorite in Detroit, but it’s not a worry of mine. I just worry about playing the game and helping the club as best I can.’‘

Good point. Hopefully Nik Kronwall “helps his team the best he can” by leaving his feet and planting an elbow across the bridge of your nose.  A penalty well-deserved, I’d say.

George Sipple has a lot more from the soon-to-be (hint, hint) Jackatoreum resident.

“This is a big rivalry. Fans didn’t like me here. I don’t expect them to be different today. … I think down deep, people know what I did, the player I was. I played against this team in ’95, I was the MVP of the playoffs. I wasn’t running around trying to hurt people; I was doing what I was supposed to do and was pretty successful.”

My Lemieux love fest will continue tomorrow.

About Abel to Yzerman

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977.  No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y.  Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation.  There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature.  Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
