Kronwall In. Homer? Not So Much

Via Deep Digger captain Ansar Khan(!),
Tomas Holmstrom did not practice, still bothered by back spasms, and coach Mike Babcock said he will not play Saturday against the Flames. Tomas Kopecky takes his place on the top line. Defenseman Niklas Kronwall practiced and said his twisted right ankle feels much better. He will return to the lineup.
Also…Derek Meech moves up to a forward position, on the fourth line with Draper and McCarty.

Cool. He didn’t look as good as a forward as I’d hoped he would last season, but I’m interested in taking another look.

I’m glad we see Filpulla and Hudler together on the third line again, I think that Draper would be better than Maltby to keep up with the little ones.
Kronwall will test his ankle by planting it into the ice and laying out the first winger breaking out of the zone with his head down. Love watching Iggy play. Hopefully McCarty can rope Captain Tenacity into a round and have Iggy sitting out for five minutes.
I love playing the Lube and the Flamers. Such fun hockey and great fans in their buildings.
Oh, and Kiprusoff – Luongo back to back will be a test for our PP percentage.

Here’s to hoping the Wings absolutely light up Kipper. My fantasy team, Ron Duguay’s Hair, need that to happen.

i know this is neither the time nor the place, but i just want to say that i hate the state of ohio. everything about it. from their terrible professional sports teams, to those stupid little stickers that crap school in columbus puts on their helmets.
buddy of mine from pittsburgh wanted to know the quickest way to detroit, i told him to just drive east until he noticed he was in what would appear to be the world’s largest landfill, then go north.

“Welcome to Ohio- the armpit of America”
I drive a lot, and almost every time I see another driver doing something stupid, annoying, frustrating, outlandish, etc, they’ve got an Ohio plate. It’s almost a given at this point.

“It’s really sore,” Holmstrom said. “It feels like somebody stabbed a knife in the back.”
Is it possible that Kopecky makes himself as invaluable as Mule because of this? I’m guessing no, but it’ll be nice to the kid get a shot.
So you’re saying Kopecky stabbed Homer…interesting. I like it.

I don’t see it. He’s not a backup kicker.

We may not have to worry about the second half of that. I’m watching the Pens/‘Nucks game and Luongo is being helped off the ice after what looks like a groin injury.
Also, Cooke got thrown out 30 seconds in against his old team in a fight.

Clearly you’ve never spent any time in the pan handle of Oklahoma…...
