LB: Somebody Gotta Save Our Season

This is going to be one of those statement games.
The last time the Wings won against Junior, Jobu tore the Mule’s knee to shreds. Needless to say, the Wings are looking to avenge both Jobu and the Hawks for having their way with us this season.
Although I still haven’t watched the game against Bubba on the DVR, from reading the last LB it was a barnburner. According to Khan(!), Helm even had his first two goal game. Thanks to RWBill for pointing that one out. And for pointing out the the Chief Deep Digger is a complete idiot. We all know that Helm had another two-goal game, and RWBill even went so far to point it out at mLive. Khan(!) being the Deep Digger extraordinaire that he is promptly corrected his article and deleted Bill’s comment with no mention of the revision.
Never one to fact check, I will say that Khan(!) is a pole smoker who only uses his access to the Red Wings locker room to get free bottles of Gatorade and to catch glimpses of Chris Osgood naked. He obviously doesn’t take his job seriously or he would actually try and do it properly. If any one of us brought that level of professionalism to our jobs, we would be fired immediately and wind up begging for change on the street.
You know the old saying about giving a million monkeys a million typewriters and a million years, they would write the works of Shakespeare? Well give nineteen monkeys with frontal lobotomies nineteen typewriters and nineteen minutes, they would better the work of all the Deep Diggers. Us Wings fans are in a lot of trouble now that Cousin Bruce MacLeod is no longer covering the Wings. At least we still have Malik kicking some ass and taking names.
And the Hawks are in trouble this afternoon as our Wings are ready for some payback. Patrick Kane better hide his mouth guard as Franzen is back.
The question remains which Red Wings squad will turn up. Will it be the team that faced Bubba and sent them home crying to their wives/cousins? Or will it be the team that laid a giant turd against the Canucks?
I believe that they will come out this afternoon to play up to their potential. We know that the Wings won’t catch Junior in the standings, but they want to send the message that we will end their season if we face in the playoffs. This game is crucial to send a message around the NHL. The Red Wings are back and they mean business.
In the upcoming month, the majority of the games are at home. The Wings better take advantage. I am refusing to acknowledge otherwise. Call it denial or optimism, but I am staying positive. Until we lay the next giant turd, then all bets are off.
For now, I will succumb to superstition. Iggy and his Stooges will be playing on the stage in the Hasek Club Car once again, hoping to inspire the Red Wings to search and destroy Junior. Take their candy (and mouth guards) to leave them crying in their carriages.
The push for the playoffs has already begun in earnest. It is time for the Wings to get separation from the peloton of suck.
We won’t judge you aboard the Stress Train if you are hitting the hard liquor early today. Big games call for big drinks. All hard liquor is free today, so order a double and start the festivities.
Iggy says, “Somebody gotta save our season”. I’m saying the Mule will get the curly fries today to say fuch you, Junior, and fuch you, Jobu.
Let’s Go Red Wings!!!!!

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
