LB: The Wings Go To LA Seeking A Surgically Enhanced Victory

The Wings return to the land of sunshine and silicone for yet another afternoon weekend game.
Thanks to Gary. Ass’ schedule it is the third weekend in a row we play an afternoon game.
But I am in a very bad mood about our last game, and that means today’s LB will feature some nipping and tucking of song choices.
Kronwall is out, as is May who is replaced by Maltby today. I know this because our good friend Jeff from OK told me so in today’s GDT. You see, the past couple of days I haven’t been able to stomach any work of our Diggers. I don’t need drooling analysis of what we all know is a lack of heart and commitment on the Red Wings. I’ll stick to reading the 19 and their blogs for insight with some venom. God bless them all, each and every one of them.
After the amazing victory in San Jose to drop a turd in Anaheim has everybody pissed off. And rightfully so.
So until the Wings start winning games, as we know they are capable of doing, there will be no musical selections for the Live Blog.
If the Wings make us suffer, we shouldn’t sugar coat the LB’s with fun musical choices. It is the homestretch of the season now, the time for fun and games is over. It is time to put the skate to the throat and press down. Bitches.

Zetterberg hit’s the pipe. Then Helm does. I think I’m about to hit one too.

Pass it when you’ve taken your hit, TDT.

So we’re down an entire forward line.
Super *#$%@& duper.

Now they observed that the Wing’s bench is three players short

Why can’t we forecheck like this all the time?

Pick it, pack it, fire it up, come along….

How come Murphy never mentions Maltby’s 50 goal season in Juniorrs,,?
Murph thinks “Maltby” is a type of eastern European brew.

shots that hit posts dont count as saves right?
Don’t even count as shots.

Why can’t we forecheck like this all the time?
Because we’re too busy sitting on a lead. Watch it go away if we take the lead again.

Clearing the zone: if you’re a Wing, getting it to the blue line will do, I guess, probably.

i hope we have enough skaters for the inevitable shootout

Why can’t we forecheck like this all the time?
Duh ... because we were waiting to be down three forwards. Isn’t that obvious?

I miss Samuelsson, he’d have some funny things to say about Avatar.

Holmstrom with a left leg injury; Eaves and Miller with ankles.
Sigh.

I wish Pavs would make those moves staight to the net instead of the perimeter.

Son. Of. Bitch.

Okay, if the Wings win this, it’ll be news to me.
I’m *#$%@& done.

Eaves and Miller have ankle injuries and Homer has a left leg injury according to Kings’ announcers.

Babcock must start throwing things on the ice and\or on his players, scare some shit in them, this is an epidemic
Posted by edillac from isolation on 02/06/10 at 06:24 PM ET
Awesome. Can the Wings just forfeit the remaining schedule? It would make my life less stressful. And maybe we could get a few first picks in the draft and build the model franchise.

Exactly. How nice would it be to see this team felch themselves when they had a lead and be SURPRISED?
That would be wooooonderfull.

I heard an interesting snippet the other day….
Winter Olympics 2006 - Canada Asst. Coach, Ken Hitchcock’s team struggled and he was fired during the season
Winter Olympics 2010 - Canada Asst. Coach, Ken Hitchcock’s team really struggles and he is fired
Also Mike Babcock’s team is struggling…, not going to get fired but makes you think
Posted by pgoody on 02/06/10 at 06:27 PM ET
I hate Larry Murphy ‘cause he sounds excited even when the Wings lose. I want my TV guys to be homers, he doesn’t cut it.
Posted by DetroitHockey on 02/06/10 at 06:27 PM ET
I hope they remember the third period. That’s how they have to play every single game here on out.
Unluckiest team in the history of the NHL.
