They don’t have to make a move until Franzen returns.
May, Leino and the Big E sit tonight.
It won’t be as easy as sending someone to GR when The Mule returns. A trade, or putting one ot two players on waivers is the options available.

I’m confused as to the cap situation with Lilja too. I thought he didn’t figure into the cap anymore. Who goes down when he’s back in?
I guess it’s good to have options, but this Olympic break and all the other alterations to our team chemistry (such that it is or isn’t) has got to wreak havoc on Uncle Mike. PLUS he’s going to be coaching a different team altogether in the middle of it. How the heck does that work?
I’m trying to imagine myself in Babblecock’s shoes right now….coming up to the CRUCIAL time of the season/career with split focus on Olympic glory and the greatest hockey team in NHL history (although bandaged and bleeding.) I don’t think I could handle it.
I wonder what the phone calls between Mike and Big Poppa Illitch are like these days.

I’m confused as to the cap situation with Lilja too. I thought he didn’t figure into the cap anymore.
As long as a player is on LTIR, his salary does not count against the cap. Only certain players are eligible to be sent down to GR without clearing waivers.
