Detroit Red Wings are hard in their Swedes.
mmmm, Me too.

I rewound and re-watching that face-wipe by Datsyuk about four times. Mickey hinted that it was Pasha telling him that there’s no point in fighting since their both wearing face shields. I was thinking it had a much more “I must break you” sense to it.

Now this is a meaningless game. Will still watch, of course; but looking more forward to the college championship game tonight.
C’mon, playoffs, start already. It’s time.

I am the laziest and most procrastinating Bitch in The 19. I really need to mow my lawn and clean up the house before watching this most meaningless game of the season, until tomorrow’s most meaningless game of the season.
Instead I’ve been frying bacon (Hail Bacon) and drinking Bell’s Third Coast Ale and Kalamazoo Stout, a break from my hoppy IPA tendencies, and reading all sorts of crack about Mule signing. I am a horrible person.

Are you an attorney too Bill?
I’ve got a the venerable to do list as well, but I’d rather watch Verlander and then the Wings in a meaningless game, and then the tail end of hat little golf tournament in GA.

just like Chelios.

Watching the NJ / CAR game and Brodeur just took a penalty for holding the stick. The goalie holding the stick.
Must have thought there was a popsicle on the other end.

Don’t be so hard on yourself, Bill. Many of us could give you a run for your money.
I just took down the Christmas lights today. I’d mow the lawn, too, but there’s still snow on it. And the last time I tried to mow snow, the nice men in the blue car with a siren took me down to the hooscow for a twelve hour visit.
We have good lawyers in the U.P., did I ever mention that?

The Red Wings have signed forward Johan Franzen to an 11-year contract extension that averages $3.9 million a season.
It’s a front-loaded deal that includes a no-trade clause for the first five or six years.

I bet the Tigers are on my TV carry over NHL Center Ice package, this way I could totally not even mow my lawn. What a lazy Bastard I am.
I blame Chief, Paul, and The 19.

Holland said he will resume negotiations with the agent for Marian Hossa after the playoffs. He is still hoping to sign Hossa.
Here is to you Tick Tock!

Oooh good, some numbers. 3.9 is pretty damn good, although we’ll be paying him when he’s 39 or 40.
Hard to think of a Red Wing
ever
with such a large percentage of his goals being game winners or otherwise huge.
Now, stop posting so I can mow my lawn B4 the Wings game. Wait, let me try and find the Tigers on TV. What a lazy procrastinating BITCH I AM (exclamation point, Gay for Adam Lambert of American Idol)

Gawd, I hope the Wings “D” is much better than the Tig’s today.
Rangers have three runs on two hits, and two Tig errors in the top of the 5th.

I got some serious ribbing from a bunch of BBBB fans and Schmucks fans at last night’s Game 1 of the Wranglers’ ECHL playoffs against Bakersfield (Wranglers win 3-1 to take a 1-0 series lead). The BBBB fan says, “Is that an Yzerman jersey (they call it “jersey” in STL? Retarded a-holes….)?” I just turned around to show it to him. Then he says, “How lucky you guys got to win it again last year. I’m a Blues fan and I’d be happy with just one.” To which I said (almost condescendingly), “Then try again. You can do it.”
At the second intermission, some slouching, hippy puke says as I’m carrying a cold serving of Widmer’s, “Red Wings suck. Ducks rule!” And I said, “No, you do and you wish you had Kenny Holland as your General Manager.” I got the most confused and ultimately pissed off look. I kept waiting for another witty repartee as expected from a retarded Schmucks fan and I got none. I laughed at him and said, “Got nothing to say, huh?” And I was laughing all the way back to my seat.
Ahhh…the playoffs are here. Such a beautiful start. I hope I get some more tonight.
Giggity…

Ah yes, life in the UP. Used to live in Marquette at one time. HUGE snowdrifts but glorious summers. I miss the fall season the most.

Okay, Bitches, I’m making a break for it. Tigers not on TV and 30 minutes until the Red Wings. If I can find my lawn mower in this Bell’s induced fog I’m going to mow my lawn… How freaking industrious after wasting the last 5 hours.

Afternoon, all. What a glorious Saturday it is. The weather is dry, Metallica is on the tv (satellite radio rules!!) and Minnesota knocked Bubba out of the playoffs last night. Now we get to watch the Wings knock Kane and Toews around for a couple of hours. God I love the weekend.

Damn, still haven’t been outside to find my lawn mower. Crap it’s missing an air filter I haven’t bought yet… more procrastination. giggity.

You guys want to know what’s great? I wore one of my Minnesota Wild jerseys out today while running errands (it’s part of my 80-jersey collection, don’t judge me) and my Wings hat. I went to 4 places, and I didn’t hear ONE THING about how the Wings suck or even Minnesota sucks. No one had a single remark to make, I loved it.

When the scoreboard flashed the NHL scores last night and I saw the Wild beat the Preds, I said, “Somewhere in Tennessee, Chris is having a major orgasm right now.”

Cheli playing forward?
Go figure they’re wearing a jersey that hasn’t been worn in Detroit since the last time Chelios played forward.

Okay, since Gualnick got a shout out, I need a guinea pig to download this monstrous 44MB self-contained “motivational” presentation using some of his shots and let me know if it works okay.
I, for one, think “No Quarter” would make a dandy replacement for “The Beard is Back.”
Must :
A: Be a Wings fan with 11 minutes to piss away (RWBill?)
B: Not have a aversion to Tool or the bastardization of a Zeppelin tune.
3: Have speakers and not be afraid to use them.

As mad as I was Thursday night, I was THAT happy last night when I saw “MIN 8, NSH 4”. I was at a friend’s house last night when I saw the score and I yelled “YES!!!!” so loud it scared the crap out of him.

Since I am not so dilligent at checking my email, Paul sent this to me about the ‘Hawks lineup today:
The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled center Jacob Dowell (DOW-uhl) from the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs. Dowell is available to make his season debut with the Blackhawks this afternoon when they face off against the Detroit Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena at 2:00 P.M. (CT).
Dowell, 24, ranks second on Rockford with 128 penalty minutes and has recorded 14 assists and 20 points in 75 games this season. The Eau Claire, Wisconsin, native made his National Hockey League debut in 19 games with the Blackhawks last season, collecting two goals, three points and 10 penalty minutes. He netted his first career NHL goal, a short-handed strike, in his first game on Nov. 22 at Calgary.
