Just for the record - who doesn’t drink heavily around these parts?

I block the IPs of those who don’t eyeris.
Another post for Hank…he’s snakebit.

Is it just me, or does anyone else get a really bad feeling when they announce Koharski as the ref?
Posted by dougie on 12/01/07 at 07:18 PM ET
They probably want to make sure Hasek gets lots of shots, so they plan to subject him to the Montreal power-play.
Either he will regain sharpness or beg to be the backup.

Another one for Datsyuk. Heating up.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 12/01/07 at 07:23 PM ET
Outstanding. Mick just told his brother Dick to “have another jar.” Classic.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 12/01/07 at 07:30 PM ET
“Shinie” Claus just showed up at the door, with a nice Majon jar full of Christmas cheer! Probably be a good opportunity for me to step away from the keyboard. I won’t get any funnier or better looking as the evening progresses, I assure you. It might get ugly. Y’all have fun!!
Posted by dougie on 12/01/07 at 07:32 PM ET
uh, Mason jar, I meant mason jar…..goodnight:-)
Posted by dougie on 12/01/07 at 07:34 PM ET
Dick’s Chicago team record for a hat trick by defenseman was tied again last night by buffy.
Posted by HockeyTownTodd on 12/01/07 at 07:36 PM ET
phoenix has so much more jump than tampa had last game. must not want to get embarassed like they did by the blackhawks.
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 12/01/07 at 07:36 PM ET
Majon jar works dougie. Have at it brother. Have a good one.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 12/01/07 at 07:36 PM ET
geez, jiri, are you trying to get yourself kilt?
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 12/01/07 at 07:41 PM ET
First period impressions: yep. Hank may be paying the hockey gods back for the first two months of the season.
Someone needs to work with Hudler. He’s going to get hurt if he doesn’t lift his head. Filppula almost followed suit a few minutes later.
Bryzgalof looks as good as ever. Osgood better not give up more than 2 because I don’t think the Wings are going to score any more than that. 50 saves for Bryzgalof won’t be out of the question.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 12/01/07 at 07:47 PM ET
figures. ilya got pulled last game so you knew he was going to come out strong this time. grrr.
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 12/01/07 at 07:54 PM ET
IWO, Baroque:
Right on !
Appears you know your hockey.
Posted by HockeyTownTodd on 12/01/07 at 07:56 PM ET
Montreal leading the Preds 2-0, end of the first.
Posted by HockeyTownTodd on 12/01/07 at 08:03 PM ET
Toronto leading Pittsburgh 2-0 in the second.
Their white jerseys really do look like practice jerseys.
Phoenix did a good job with their uniforms, though.
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 12/01/07 at 08:06 PM ET
Uh-oh.
Bad Lilja makes an appearance. :(
1 - 1 tie.
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 12/01/07 at 08:08 PM ET
I don’t know what’s worse, the giveaway from Lilja or hearing Richard Marx immediately following.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 12/01/07 at 08:08 PM ET
Who the hell is wearing the Wings jerseys this period. It is not just Lilja, Wings are losing the board battles.
Posted by HockeyTownTodd on 12/01/07 at 08:09 PM ET
Thank goodness for the graphic at the top of the screen. It’s the only way I knew that last bit wasn’t a Phoenix power-play.
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 12/01/07 at 08:12 PM ET
Well, it is now.
Mick says they need to get back on track ?
Hell, they’ve been derailed.
Posted by HockeyTownTodd on 12/01/07 at 08:15 PM ET
Followed by an odd bounce and a Phoenix goal.
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 12/01/07 at 08:24 PM ET
Good pressure at the end on the power-play.
I wonder if the ice is bad. The puck seems to be bouncing a lot for both teams, and the weather is supposed to be changing this weekend.
I know I don’t much like the Sunday forecast for my area. :(
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 12/01/07 at 08:35 PM ET
A dispatch from the Department of Fortunate Timing:
Tampa leading Boston 2-0, both goals by Vincent Lecavalier. I’m glad he was sluggish last game.
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 12/01/07 at 08:38 PM ET
just joined for the last 4 minutes of the 2nd: PP was generating a bit. We look slow. Saw the goals against on replay; Lilja needs to see Ozzie’s sports psychologist to…umm…get instituted.

Lilja needs to see Ozzie’s sports psychologist to…umm…get instituted.
Institutionalized? ![]()
I just want the good Lilja back. He is so Jekyll-and-Hyde that it drives me crazy!
Boy, a lot of teams are getting shut out after 2 periods. Florida, Pittsburgh, Nashville, Carolina, the Islanders are all scoreless at the second intermission.
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 12/01/07 at 08:50 PM ET
Now that is one of the odder goals I’ve seen.
2-2 tie with the goal by Zetterberg.
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 12/01/07 at 08:54 PM ET
So much for Zetterberg’s drought, eh?
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 12/01/07 at 08:55 PM ET
What happened, I was on the phone and getting sardines out.
Posted by HockeyTownTodd on 12/01/07 at 08:57 PM ET
woww….yay ZZZZZEEEEEEEEE
instituted in an institution…. you didn’t let me finish myself, which I do all too often these days.
I’m going to personally shoot a puck at Lilja’s head; get that boy straight up there…
Posted by srt on 12/01/07 at 08:58 PM ET
Yeah, his drought was positively Saharan.
The goals illustrate exactly how important Bryzgalov has been to Phoenix, though. He’s given up tow goals, the first a strange deflection and the second a bizarre bounce. Nothing that he had a chance on has gotten by him.
He must have used up a month’s worth of putrid in the game against Chicago to get pulled, because he’s an excellent tender.
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 12/01/07 at 09:00 PM ET
I want Cleary to get 30 goals sooo bad…
hhaha:: “I can see clearly now” point for cleverness
Posted by srt on 12/01/07 at 09:01 PM ET
What happened, I was on the phone and getting sardines out.
How do you get sardines out of a phone?
Ricochet all over the place just as the Wings’ power-play ended, and the puck bounced into the net off Zetterberg’s stick.
Followed by a power-play rip by Cleary just under the crossbar; 3-2 Wings.
instituted in an institution…. you didn’t let me finish myself, which I do all too often these days.
Then don’t hit the “submit” button until you finish talking, srt…I can’t interrupt on the internet unless you give me an opening!
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 12/01/07 at 09:05 PM ET
STOP TURNING OVER THE PUCK!
Geez, did Osgood say something that made his teammates want to punish him?
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 12/01/07 at 09:08 PM ET
Oops-not powerplay, just looked like it. My bad.
Datsyuk, Holmstrom and Filpulla together now.
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 12/01/07 at 09:14 PM ET
Zetterberg with Franzen and Samuelsson.
Switching things around a little bit with a little more than seven minutes to go.
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 12/01/07 at 09:16 PM ET
Apparently Carolina decided they didn’t need no stinkin’ defense on a trip north.
They are trailing Buffalo 7-0 in the third period.
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 12/01/07 at 09:21 PM ET
Montreal still up 4-2, 7 min left
Thanks Baroque, just got to see it as Fox showed all the goals.
Sardines were in the kitchen, tv was not. Had the sound off to talk on phone. Stupid brother called just as the hot stove was starting - oh well I have it on tape.
Posted by HockeyTownTodd on 12/01/07 at 09:24 PM ET
Eep.
That was close.
Thank goodness for posts.
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 12/01/07 at 09:24 PM ET
2:05 left in the Toronto game, and Pittsburgh just scored to make it 3-2 Toronto.
The puck bounced off Toskala’s stick and rolled up and over his shoulder and into the net.
Looks to be a good finish in Toronto.
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 12/01/07 at 09:27 PM ET
Mickey’s theory for the changed lines: Circus were giving up the puck too often.
Z takes messages very well; he’s out working everyone on the ice.
Chelios is the man; what a smart guy
Posted by srt on 12/01/07 at 09:28 PM ET
Well, that’s it. Seemed to be a bit of luck in that win.
