Stuck in traffic on the way home tonite and I had a pleasant little fantasy about punching somebody right in the face. Who? The jackass who left a Windsor blackjack table in the mid-90’s because Steve Yzerman was “bad luck.” The daydream ended pleasantly just as one of my favorite tunes came on.
Neil Peart, to my knowledge, has never been a pharmacist. But this line is appropriate tonite, because it’s exactly the opposite of The Captain.
“Glittering prizes and endless compromises shatter the illusion of integrity.”
Steve Yzerman never gave a damn about any trophies but one and he didn’t compromise a single frigging thing. His integrity remains intact.
So, screw it, tonite we’ll go ahead and live blog his Induction into the Motherfu**ing Hockey Hall of Fame.
Because that, bitches, is how we roll.
