That’s the key: sustained superior performance.

As I was about to type before Oompa decided he was going to single-handedly win this game, for anyone interested, the NHL Network showing a half hour special on the captaincy of St. Nick. TiVo it if you can.

Good job by Ozzie to bail out Pavel after a bad turnover behind his own net.
Posted by J.J. from Kansas on 12/04/08 at 08:02 PM ET
Its great that we have had two of the classiest guys to ever play the game as back to back captians…another reason why we are the best

Posted by Nate A from Detroit-ish on 12/04/08 at 08:12 PM ET
Raffi has points, sure. But he’s another that can’t hit a bull in the a$$ with a bucket of rice this year.
Posted by MOWingsfan19 on 12/04/08 at 08:12 PM ET

Same up in Bay City area, and irritates the hell out of my dad. Started at $5, but they bumped the price up 33 cents every few months.
Murphy is sounding good tonite. Somebody steal his flask?

Guts:
Before Lilja threw that perfect “post-pattern” pass to Oompah, he was high-sticked, cut on the lip (later required stictches on the bench). So he quickly drags himself up onto his skates and makes a pass worthy of Bret Favre.
Andreas, I salute you!

Quick, before the second starts, post your high sticks missed to high sticks called ratio

I love that Molson commercial too… Nobody in the south would get it. And note that the two hockey players are Wings and Hawks…
Posted by Cwix from Roanoke, VA on 12/04/08 at 08:27 PM ET
Gotta give Fox a break on that commercial.
It is usually the Cable company that cuts in unexpected with their
designated commercial time.

As much as I hate having to watch a feed, there is something about watching hometown commercials that makes me smile - and get a little homesick…

Mick says, “barely enough room for the puck”. My ass. Osgood left the short side wide open.

There’s the number we’ve come to appreciate. 3.

Cant blame that one. But give him the hook anyway.
Posted by Nate A from Detroit-ish on 12/04/08 at 08:39 PM ET
Kopecky pulling the puck back right before he crosses the line. Did they not have blue lines where he grew up?

Ask Hossa.
Posted by MOWingsfan19 on 12/04/08 at 08:41 PM ET
Hossa seems to understand how to keep from putting his linemates offsides.
