Long Week…You’ve Persevered Without Me

Aloha.  This week has sucked. Well, it’s been busy…that doesn’t mean it sucked.  I mean…nevermind.

Sorry for the lack of posts and big thanks to Okie for picking up the slack.  We’ve got a big pre-playoff week ahead of us and we should all be fully stressed no later than next Friday I’m thinking.  In the meantime, I caught this over at Malik’s and agree completely.

“We don’t worry about our playoff matchup.”

Instead, Babcock said, the Wings “hope for distance.” By that he means the shortest distance traveled in the playoffs is always the best route. So, playing Anaheim or Edmonton in the first round wouldn’t be as beneficial as playing St. Louis or Nashville.

George picked that up from Dan Rosen at NHL.com and Uncle MIke made a point that finally sunk in to me…it is the distance that matters most.  It is the travel, the flights, the time changes.

You little f’ing dirtball Bettman.  How the FU** is Detroit in the West?  How the FU** can there even be a possibility of a first or second seeded Wing team traveling to Anaheim or Edmonton IN THE FIRST ROUND?

Thanks Gary. Ass.

Live Blog tonite?  Yep.  1900 or so we’ll kick that bitch off.  And, for the record, I agree…this one has “loss” written all over it. Dammit.

On the flip side, I would take a 4-game sweep of Edmonton and the rest that comes with it in exchange for 1 trip out West.

I too agree that for DET the playoff matchups ideally have the Wings travelling the shortest distances possible.

I disagree with the sentiment tht finishing first does not matter.  Look at the SJS home record.

Therefore I also disagree

this one has “loss” written all over it.

Wings are bringing it tonite.  Nothing at all soft from DET tonite, nothing.

No problem Chief, completely understand the miserable disposition created by workload interferring with hockey.

Dammit Chief, I was thinking yesterday ‘just like the wings to lose to the Isles or some high school j.v. team’ but then today I got a shot of playoff adrenaline and realized this :  Today for the very first time, of all the times he could have said it, but since in Him we trust, today for the first time Uncle Mike said to The Boys, “OUR playoff run starts tonight, bitches.  We are number one and need to finish off San Jose in the regular season.  We start playing seriously tonight.”

So….does that mean Osgood is in net?

Nice pic, btw Bill…who’s the eye candy?

It will be a 6-1 final tonight. Who gets the 6 is still up for debate.

The more I think about it, the more important question than who is in net is Who is in black and white tonight.

Right now, I’ve got more respect for the folks that took the AIG bonuses than the zebras….they’re the rocks on the tracks threatening to derail the Hasek.

Well said, sir. The Sharks are a fragile bunch right now. We need to spear the fish now and end this silly jockeying for position with these playoff pretenders.

The SJ hometown faithful ain’t so happy after losing to Bubba. The panic is starting to show. Doubt is creeping through the Sharks locker room and the streets of San Jose. Discord and blaming will start soon. Next thing you know, SJ suffers a first round collapse. The hockey world cheers.
