Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News says the Stars need a new backup goalie.
He says there are several to choose from.
Including?
Manny Legace, making $2.15 million this season in St. Louis, but a UFA at year’s end (He’s 1-5-1 with a 3.93 GAA and .849 save percentage).
Awesome.
It’s a Live Blog bitches.

It’s going to be a good game. For the first time in days, my girlfriend’s cat pooped inside the litterbox.

You should name him Samuelsson.

Hey everyone! You’d think I’d be watching this on tv since I live in Texas and last time I checked Dallas was in Texas (unfortunately), but no. We have two schools I have never heard of playing basketball. So, for everyone who needs a feed:

All the reminiscing has been nice but there’s no time like the present. A win would be a nice present. Bitches.
Lets Go Red Wings!!!!!

Oh, and Yahoo is streaming the game…

So, is it too early to start grovelling for extra tickets to the Jan 31 game in DC?
It seems the game is sold out, according to Ticketbastard. Geez, back before the Whalers moved to Raleigh, we used to drive to DC on game nights, and buy 3rd row seats 10 minutes before game time(shrugs).WTF??
Hmmm….maybe the Chief, in his infinite wisdom, and deep pocketbook, purchased a huge block of tickets , anticipating these developments.
Chief??

I’ve been calling him the Mad Pooper, but Samuelsson is so much better. How did I not think of that??

I wish Dougie. And it’s a 1230 game. Wonder if any bars around the Verizon Center will be open at 0800?

Matt Saler linked to nhlLOLs in his blog today. I’m not a huge lolcats fan, but this one just cracked me the hell up.

I wish our cat with IBS would leave all his pies in the box…
Here’s hoping for a urine drenched Turco tonite.

Bars?? We don’t need no steenking bars!!
I’ll bring 2(or3) Mason Jars full of Virginia moonshine (the Patron quality stuff), and 30 minutes in the parking lot at 11:30 will have you in good shape to watch the final warmups 30 minutes later.

Larry Murphy’s whoring himself to any network showing hockey these days.
Luckily for us there aren’t many of those.
Eh Gary? Ass.

Since the Jan 31 game in DC seems to be sold out…. there is a fair amount of time (like 1/2 a season or so) to plan on going to a game at the Joe…. just kickin it out there now as some of us with wife n kid and stufff need a little time to plan things out.
Thoughts anyone?

Cats…fatten em up, save em for February. I’ll make throw pillows for the Hasek just like last year.

That’s too funny eyeris. I just got this message from a friend of mine: “Okay, my son just walked back from the park behind our house….with no shirt on. When questioned as to why, in 30 degree weather he has no shirt on, he replied “It has pee on it.” Someone find Murph and ask him how you can PEE on a shirt that you are WEARING?”
HA!!!!

I’ll be in one of those Verizon center bars at around 10am on the 31st. I’ll be forcing one of my college buddies into a Datsyuk t-shirt in exchange for morning shots before the game.
Posted by Aimee in Austin on 01/08/09 at 07:41 PM ET
MO, I’m going to assume you’re talking a weekend game. only Feb options are Sat the 7 v the Oil, or Sun the 15 vs those hot tub loving, sissy sipping, cross dressing superfans from the rockies.
Posted by Nate A from Detroit-ish on 01/08/09 at 07:42 PM ET
pretty quick paced up and down game, never would have happened in a game between the Wings and Stars 2 years ago.
Posted by RWBill from the Land of 12 in 12. on 01/08/09 at 07:42 PM ET
Nate….I’ll go to the Joe anytime, just need a lil heads up. 10 days notice is plenty for the day job. This year is the first in 7 I haven’t been to the Joe IF I don’t go this season
Hell yeah HOSS.

Not sure Murph would have a good answer….

Whoa. Nice mention of the Emperor. OUTSTANDING.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 01/08/09 at 07:47 PM ET
I looked over and noticed my dachschund taking a dump in the floor at the EXACT second Hossa pull the trigger on that shot.
Coincidence?
Posted by dougie on 01/08/09 at 07:48 PM ET
Wow, we’re on to start a game. Awake in the first is unusual this year

Feed that dog more dougie. And never let it outside.

Mental note to wear shoes in cephalopod’s and dougie’s houses.

Defense looks sharp. Need more shots on goal though…even though the goal came from a shot from a strange place.
Posted by Tyler from Arizona on 01/08/09 at 07:51 PM ET
MO, I’m cool with pretty much any day for a game. Osrt was lookin’ at setting up a A2Y nite in Detroit at some point. Not sure what he had in mind. If he decides to show up tonite, perhaps he can elaborate.
I think Hossa wants #20 tonite too.

If it falls to the floor it stays on the floor. No “5 second rule”!
