Nice Little Run Kid…Now Sit Your Ass Down

This one gets to me a bit, kinda rankles me if you want to know the truth.  And I’m betting our Uncle Mike feels the same way.

Ville Leino, despite two real effective games in a row, will sit tonite while Darren Helm finds a spot in the lineup. Do I have a problem with Helm? Nope.  But I wouldn’t mind seeing Kopecky or Maltby take a seat to keep Leino in there.

You’ve seen this piece of prose from Aristotle himself?  No? Here you go.

“He’s been so good, a goal and an assist, a plus-2,so I scratched him today,’’ coach Mike Babcock said. “That didn’t really make any sense, but he’ll be back in the next game (Saturday vs. Edmonton).”

Let me translate that for you:  Babcock’s following orders.  Does he dig it? Nope. But he’s doing it ‘cause Tick Tock’s calling the organ-I-zational shots.

But he’s gonna get his shots in there, especially to Khan(!) who’s only too willing to assist.

On the surface, Helm for Leino.  Got it. But that’s not it and you know it. When it should be about putting your best team on the ice, it rarely is for this team.  Coming out of TC? Nope. Winter Classic?  Hell no.  Now?  No way.  You could even go back to last April and say talent-on-ice wasn’t the key factor when putting Darren McCarty on the fourth line in the playoffs.  That worked out well. I know.  Making a point here bitches.

I wanna see a line of Helm, Leino and Hudler.  And I want me some Kopecky riding pine.

Oh, so the Wings beat the Bitch Blues in OT and all the ills are solved? Is that it? We were outshot by St. Louis.  We mustered two frigging shots in one period.  Burl Ives looking Keith Tkaphatphuck was frequently untouched in front of Osgood, his ass looking like the Hindenberg ready to fall on top of unsuspecting innocents.

So when the time comes to have our organ-I-zations two most talented youngsters on the same line? Let’s forego that for the sake of unity and loyalty.

Blah, blah, frigging blah-tipity-blah. I know they’ll both probably be in there Saturday or whenever the Edmonton game is. But you know what? There’s a game tonite and the best possible Wing lineup won’t be on the ice.

And that’s stupid.
