Easy with the Gaelic. Going to the Gaeltacht in high school and having to speak only gaelic for weeks was the most brutal part of summers back home. Luckily I’ve almost forgotten everything I ever learnt. Slainte

A breakaway, and an unassisted goal scored from the slot.
Would the real Detroit Red Wings please stand up?
(RB, I’ve exhausted my supply of Irish. Don’t make me break out the Dr. Stiofan O’Direain on you…)

Crap! Nice turnover again, this time Cleary. We are usually great at causing the opponent to do that. We have to carry the puck in , drop pass or something to drive to the net and get an ugly one. OK PP we have to get one here!
Posted by hankyspanky40 from Michigan on 10/09/08 at 08:20 PM ET
Pssst… hey Wings, you’re being outworked by the other team. Nobody cares you won the Cup… LAST year. Be here now.
Posted by Mike from La-La Land on 10/09/08 at 08:20 PM ET
As much as i hate it but you have to tip your hat to the Leafs and Toskala. YES!!!!!HOMER
Posted by hankyspanky40 from Michigan on 10/09/08 at 08:21 PM ET
Little Bingo!

Aw come on, Keane, Connemara isn’t so bad…as long as you like toothless old men with pipes and large women…
Er…HOMER! Can we have the hat trick?
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor from Fortress Europe on 10/09/08 at 08:22 PM ET
Motherefffffingg HOMER!!!!!
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 10/09/08 at 08:22 PM ET
Homer for the trick, coming up. He’s working harder than any other Wing to this point.
Posted by Tyler from Lansing on 10/09/08 at 08:23 PM ET
Jesus, Sammy…one boneheaded move after another.
Posted by Gabriel from San Diego, CA on 10/09/08 at 08:24 PM ET
Sammy can’t clear the puck to save his life!
Posted by hankyspanky40 from Michigan on 10/09/08 at 08:24 PM ET
Ronnie Wilson has certainly taught the Leafs about work ethic…..lots of hustle out there. Wings…not so much.
Posted by Rumbear from Top O da Hasek, sippin rum & catchin some rays on 10/09/08 at 08:24 PM ET
Oompa Loompa looks so comfortable in Uncle Mike’s doghouse.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 10/09/08 at 08:25 PM ET
Homer is one of the slowest and less talented players on the team but he is a money player!! tough as nails!
Posted by hankyspanky40 from Michigan on 10/09/08 at 08:25 PM ET
Have the Wings had any odd man rushes?
They are playing a little odd.
That week they lost in the short summer must have been the week they normally sharpen skates.
I think Hossa went the entire 2nd without breaking a stick.
Posted by HockeyTownTodd on 10/09/08 at 08:26 PM ET
Bit crowded in the doghouse tonight, Chief.
BTW, Keane, ever heard of Twenty Major? He’d be right up yer alley, I suspect.

Filppula is the only one that has looked good and has some jump.
Posted by hankyspanky40 from Michigan on 10/09/08 at 08:29 PM ET
Icing too, Tyler. It’s a cavalcade of shite.
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor from Fortress Europe on 10/09/08 at 08:30 PM ET
Icing as a tactic…..hmmm….
Posted by Rumbear from Top O da Hasek, sippin rum & catchin some rays on 10/09/08 at 08:31 PM ET
lets win a faceoff drive to the net and do something!
Posted by hankyspanky40 from Michigan on 10/09/08 at 08:31 PM ET
My fault we’re losing bitches. Changed the post title for the last five minutes.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 10/09/08 at 08:32 PM ET
Where’s the freakin’ Flying Circus?
Posted by mudshark from Divetown, Colorado on 10/09/08 at 08:33 PM ET
Darn blocked again! no passing or shooting lanes to be had! We need an ugly one and some lady luck sprinkled in.
Posted by hankyspanky40 from Michigan on 10/09/08 at 08:34 PM ET
I’ve started reading the twenty major novel “order of the phoenix park” But I’m mad for ross O’Carroll Kelly who is like inverse twenty major about a stuck up soutside dublin rich kid
PS Let’s go wings
Posted by keane16 from dublin at heart on 10/09/08 at 08:34 PM ET
Methinks the Wings are a bit complacent tonite. Uncle Mike will take care of that if they lose.
Posted by Mike from La-La Land on 10/09/08 at 08:34 PM ET
You know, if it wasn’t for the banner and Homer this game would be one huge bag of suck.
What was that VS guy babbling about Ron Wilson’s uncle? Was it Owen or Luke?
Posted by monkey from here to Timbuktu on 10/09/08 at 08:35 PM ET
some lady luck sprinkled in.
Or RW Bill…where is he????
Posted by Rumbear from Top O da Hasek, sippin rum & catchin some rays on 10/09/08 at 08:36 PM ET
nice give and go but our luck it’s on sammys stick when it’s shot.
Posted by hankyspanky40 from Michigan on 10/09/08 at 08:37 PM ET
Hey it only took 58 minutes to get some sustained attack going.
Posted by Tyler from Lansing on 10/09/08 at 08:38 PM ET
Playing right into the trap since early in the 2nd.
Posted by Nate A from Detroit-ish on 10/09/08 at 08:39 PM ET
Ta Keane, I’ll look up Ross O’Carroll Kelly. Me likey some sweary Roddy Doyle, so oughta be a larf.
I have a feeling we’ll be seeing the Flying Circus sooner rather than later.

If you cup your hand to your ear you can almost hear…...
The Stress Train.
Posted by Rumbear from Top O da Hasek, sippin rum & catchin some rays on 10/09/08 at 08:39 PM ET
Cavalcade of suck. I’ll take the shootout even, if we can get that far.
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor from Fortress Europe on 10/09/08 at 08:41 PM ET
You know..if we lose, it had better be a wake up call that no game should be taken for granted this season.
Posted by Gabriel from San Diego, CA on 10/09/08 at 08:41 PM ET
Oh Homer…so close
Posted by cephalopod from Chicago...nope, still not over it. on 10/09/08 at 08:42 PM ET
Yeah I feel like we are playing the new Jersey of old.
Ugly i say just Ugly.
Posted by hankyspanky40 from Michigan on 10/09/08 at 08:42 PM ET
The Leafs look like they won the Stanley Cup.
Oh well, so much for 82 and 0

Okay, whe’s NOT gonna get held over the fire by Uncle Mike tonight?
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor from Fortress Europe on 10/09/08 at 08:43 PM ET
