Babcock just said that Datsyuk is planning on playing, but the final decision hasn’t been made yet.
Update from Thursday’s morning skate: Several Wings exercised their option to not skate. Pavel Datsyuk is practicing. Will update with his status for tonight following the availability. At this point, it would be surprising if he didn’t play tonight in Game 4.

Datsyuk is on the ice now at the morning skate. Will update with word on his status for tonight.
That’s from MacLeod’s twitter.

Could it be? Dangle Dangle is back….I couldn’t control my excitment and let out an evil little giggle like a school girl. Oh it’s it on bitches.

Dangle Dangle returning is excellent news.
“Keep your filthy hands off of my dream, Malkin.”
Even at 75% Datsyuk will make Malkin his 100% bitch.
Mike Chen has a good post about Bettman. It is rather civil over at Chen’s considering the topic is Li’l Gary. But Chen makes good points about the specific role of Bettman.
Feel free to comment on our discussion, or just call Gary an Ass like usual.
These will likely be some of my last coherent thoughts today. As the opening faceoff approaches the stress, nerves, and crack cause me to be a complete wreck. I’ll try not to vomit on any of the 19, I promise, but I make no guarantees.

Datsyuk still on the ice with the scratches, that can’t be good.
um, hey Craig? think maybe he’s just trying to get as much time skating as he can, since he hasn’t played in two weeks and wants to test it as much as possible, and be as ready as possible?
nah, it must mean he’s a scratch. couldn’t be any other possible explanation.
wtf is wrong with sports writers?

From “The Highlander”:
No surprise, but Pavel Datsyuk is on the ice now at the Wings’ morning skate. That’s a sign that he’s still on track to return tonight from a foot injury.
More to come on his status. The Penguins’ morning skate had no surprises. Everyone was on the ice and the Pens worked out of the same lines they used in Game 3.

Do your magic, Pav, do your magic.
This is terrible news for Gary, his Minions, and the media. Right now, at some Marriott in Pittsburgh, Edzo is being extra violent with Pierre, who is distraught over the fact his best French Maid outfit is now torn to shreds.

Exactly. Untoppable.
From an upcoming press release:
June 4, 2009—The program “Photoshop” reached its zenith. Graphic artists around the world pause to reflect on the significance of the moment, says one, “I guess it’s all downhill from here.”
Neither Adobe, Sidney Crosby, nor Pierre McGuire could be reached for comment.
The Smithsonian Institute in Washington announced it plans a permanent exhibit on the work entitled, “A Thousand Words. A Thousand Memories”.
The exhibit, the showcase of the National Museum of American History, will feature both the original artwork and the PC used to create it. The Institute has convinced the creator of the work to donate his hands for bronzing upon his death so that they may be added to the exhibit posthumously.

so i guess the question becomes….which@#$%stick Penguin takes the first whack at his foot. I bet you Cook, Orpik and Kunitz will systematically test-slash different areas of both feet like the raptors on the fence in Jurassic Park at feeding time…you KNOW it’s going to happen.

When one considers the number of man-games lost for the Wings during this playoff run, it is quite remarkable that they are in the SCF with a 2-1 lead. From a cursory look at the box scores, it appears that 7 players have missed 59 games due to injuries. Granted, that does include Lilja missing all 19 playoff games.
But if I had told you on the last day of the regular season that Lids, Rafi, Dats and Drapes were going to miss a total of 28 games, would you have thought there would be a chance the Wings were playing for 12?

Of course they will. I’d actually be more surprised if they didn’t. Gary Roberts indeed….the only problem…they have to catch Dangle Dangle first.

Not a fan of some of these journo On the Scene updates on Twitter—Pavel’s been out there for like 75 minutes, a full 40 or so longer than the guys who’re playing tonight. What’s going on? Is he just amped to play and loving the feel of ice under his skates, or is he proving himself to the docs, or is he scratched again, or what?
Posted by Matt Saler from Grand Rapids, MI on 06/04/09 at 11:44 AM ET
I read game-time decision as “at this point, we would have to confine him in a strightjacket to keep him off the ice.”
Unless he gets hit by a train, I think he’s in.
But if I had told you on the last day of the regular season that Lids, Rafi, Dats and Drapes were going to miss a total of 28 games, would you have thought there would be a chance the Wings were playing for 12?
Not a snowball’s chance in Hades. It has been remarkable.

Brilliance from the Triple Deke:
Game 4’s
Red Wings 6-5 Blue Jackets
Red Wings 6-3 Ducks
Red Wings 6-1 Blackhawks
From this, you can obviously see that the Wings will win tonight 6 to negative 1.
