There are rules you know. Unwritten and never followed, but there are rules. And if you don’t know them, here are some guidelines to help you imagine them:
—Don’t do anything during a live blog that would make you look smarter, funnier or physically stronger than anyone else. The live blog was created so that all posters are exactly the same. Don’t ruin that for the slower typists.
—If you come up with an idea that may give you an advantage over other live bloggers, set it aside. Or email me. Better yet, submit the idea to me in writing and in triplicate. I’ll farm it out to the committee and we’ll decide, over the span of 19 months, whether the idea will benefit the entire community of posters.
—I’m the GM of this live blog. I believe, through several successful live blogs, that my live blogging is beyond reproach. In fact, I think that I’m the best damn Live Blog GM in the world. So, if you’re going to criticize me for the way I conduct my Live Blog..if you’re going to question the ethical way I go about hosting these Live Blogs, I’d suggest you show me—specifically—just how I’m breaking some sort of mythical Live Blog rule.
No? You don’t have that? Oh. Well that’s too bad.

Hey Chief. Looks like it’s gonna be Thursday/Sunday for the Wings. NBC wants a game in Detroit, and they’re showing an Eastern game on Saturday.
Sorry. I hate having bad news.
Not for me Steve. That’s GREAT news. I’ve got kids playing machine pitch baseball on Saturday morning and a 7th birthday bash in the afternoon. I was gonna have to DVR that bitch and stress through the bday party. Not fun for Dad.

If the Jackets fall to seventh today and draw Detroit, that is not necessarily a bad thing. First off, the Red Wings are in the same time zone, so travel will not be a factor. And for you fans, the games will be telecast so that you can watch the games and not be a zombie at work the next day. You could also drive up to Joe Louis and see the games. Lastly, the Blue Jackets have had success against Detroit and know what to expect.

AWESOME. He’s from Underhill Vermont, about 10 miles from where I grew up.
Not sure how those “pirates” thought that was going to pan out. Even if they got their $ and handed over the Cap’n, they’re stuck in a floating can and sitting ducks.

Well are they rules or guidelines? Why not just tax those with the lightening bolts of genius and use the proceeds to buy rum for the rest of us. Sounds fair. Let’s form a committee to decide that it is fair. That would be fair, right?
I’m guessing somebody did their taxes this weekend.
Last game, the Presidents jinx is hard at work in Fintown, the Ducks pooped in the box last nite, the BJ’s are trying to fix their bus for a couple of roundtrips to Hockeytown and the BBB’s have their density in their own hands…....Manny would be proud.

God damn. Two things have nearly brought tears to my eyes today. A post in the previous thread (I apologize, can’t remember who said it and too lazy to check, although kudos to whoever it was, and I’m paraphrasing) something like “Against the spirit of the CBA? Well the CBA violates the spirit of America” , and hearing about Capt Philips here first.
