Hi. I understand there was an event downtown today. Rumor has it a few of you showed up. I couldn’t be there, and it makes me sad. If you took pictures, send them to: iwocpo at gmail dot com. Then, I’ll post them here and claim it was me who shot them, if the quality’s good. If the quality sucks, I’ll still post them but attribute them to a Free Press photographer.
Fair? Awesome.

It makes me sad too that I couldn’t be there. I’d love to see more pictures.

I got a pretty decent set (165 photos, some of the have to be good) from the East side of Woodward between State and Grand River. Should have them posted later tonight, crusing down 94 right now so I can’t review them.
Was in on a conversation with Home Keys when the players got back to the Joe. He was being real cool with the fans, had come out to talk to someone in my party but stuck around to sign autographs. Only player who did that AFAIK.

I watched the whole thing from “work”.....
I’d love to have been there too.
I was at the Joe on 01/02/07 (known as Stevie’s Night to the 19) & a SCPO party would be on par or one shelf up from there.
Cheers.

Having been to Yzerman Night and to al four recent parades, I disagree. Yzerman Night was by far better than the parades.
I was at Game Five and when it looked like the Wings were going to win, *that* was better than Yzerman Night. What ended up happening… Not so much.

Clark, that’s awesome. Good on the kid.
When the Channel 4 broadcast was finally done at 3pm, the crowd was mostly gone, and all the VIPs had left. Except for Ozzy, who was still in Hart Plaza and had been signing autographs for at least 40 minutes. Man does that guy care.

I did the same… I originally had today off and then had to come in today because I had to take yesterday off last minute because of a family emergency (everyone’s fine, it wasn’t anything serious). I’m kind of bummed, but the coverage with all the streams was great and it was nice to hear all the interviews anyways.

Damn Val…
I wish I could’ve been there. Sucks living so far away…

Wow! When the Wings were on the stage at Hart Plaza, the table full of hardware was truely impressive:
Stanley
Campbell
President’s
Jennings
Conn Smythe
and a few more will be added:
Norris,
Selke,
Adams
Lady Byng

Been a long time since I’ve been to this website. Was just kind of wondering if it still existed. Nice to see there are the usual posters who are insecure with their manhood and more concerned with Filppula’s girlfriend than the actual playoffs, the team, the parade, the players, the crowds, the future of the team, etc. Real classy, guys! (NOT)

w2j2,
I doubt Babcock wins the Adams. It will be Bruce Boudreau. I’d love to be wrong though.

See, I told you Fil was having a breakout year!
lol
No Adams for Babs; that’s almost guaranteed. Norris for Nick, Selke for Dats (if they follow the numbers), and hopefully the Lady Byng for him also.

Here are my photos from the day although most are actually not from the parade itself. But the Stanley Cup, Conn Smythe, and photos of me w/ some players do make an appearance. ![]()

umm…so you got to be a part of the parade, watch the presentations up close and hobnob with the players afterwards??
wow. I gotta get into this whole intertube thing.
Congrats Christy!

Christy, those are amazing. You are the luckiest girl in the world, or at least in the 19.

PRS:
Typicaly the coach of the S.C.Champions has a better shot at the Adams trophy a year after he wins the cup.

Side note, anybody see this pic of the Douche Canoe mourning with the Pens?

If it wasn’t for all of you, I don’t think I would have made it to the Parade today. Since, I live so close, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to be a part of this great event. And it was awesome! I saw the entire parade and then watched the rally in air conditioned comfort while enjoying some fabulous German food & beer downtown at Jacoby’s. Thanks to all of you for the making this an awesome community which really kept me going this season (even though this is my first post). Enjoy the pics!

Maybe this year the league should have come up with a new trophy - the “Closest Thing to a Dynasty Possible in a Salary Cap World” trophy:
A large-capacity silver shopping cart with a Red Wings logo. That is a lot of stuff!
All these pictures are awesome. It’s like I was there, without the driving, and the heatstroke.

I just posted in the other thread, but I have a bunch from the parade this afternoon. Again, they were taken from the corner of Woodward and the 75 bridge. I was behind a big crowd, so I had to take them with the camera well above my head (where I couldn’t really see what I was taking a picture of) but some of them turned out great.
I’ll email them to you when I get them onto this computer. We’re about to head out to pick up my buddy from work, but I’ll get ‘em on when we get back.
