Ship at Sea

It’s 1 September and I’m still floating, providing a steadfast blanket of protection to the coast of Southern California.  Expected return to civilization and internet connectivity is in approximately 36 hours.  Breakfast this morning with a few visitors to the warship: one from Pittsburgh, one from Chicago.  Odd that both of these fans of the Pens and Hawks agree with us re: Rosby and the Hawks chances this season.

Rosby…chances this season

Of being a little bitch and winding up in Jackatoreum 2.0? It’s great when we can all agree and live in harmony.

Ahoy, Chief.

I have decided to turn my head & cough for the cause….and a worthy one it is.  Get Malik into that arena in TC and he will tell us everything, even down to the lace patterns on the rookie’s skates.

And please do offer the Pen’s & Hawk’s fans a tall glass of bilge.

Even in a virtual sense, alcohol lubricated the discussion here on the A2Y.

Hello Chief and welcome back in 24!

There are so many brilliant comments about hops and brewing on the previous thread it’s impossible to copy and paste and reply to all of them…. just thanks to everybody’s information, that’s awesome.

Cascade hops,  mmmm, one of several variants that contribute fundamentally to the IPA style.  West Wing, I think, said a mouthful, the mere overdosing of ingredients does NOT make a better brew.

I definitely need to go PacNW sometime then, haven’t been there since I was way young.  I appreciate the information from everyone.  I kept a spreadsheet at one time but have faltered a bit as the last several I’ve tried have not made it into documentation.  There are definitely those I do not care to try again.  Hell, five years ago I didn’t even know there were 60 kinds of IPA.

You know also where it’s gone through the roof?  Anchorage.  Massive infusion of hops.  Great late night stumbling around in the summer there with local brews on tap, and salmon cream cheese spread with sourdough loaves.

Hockey is almost back, bitches.

Sorry, guys…the lingering questions regarding blogger credentialing mean that I’m going to make a last-minute reservation if I am allowed to actually go—if not, I’m returning hotel money because I’m not going to ask anyone to subsidize me going to an event I can’t cover—so I’m a few hundred short of the hotel/gas money combo.  My apologies.

There’s more beer made per capita here than in Munich.  Beer is like a fuching religion in these parts.  They don’t call it Beervana for nothin’.

Posted by WestWing

I was in Munich last year and stayed next to the Warsteiner brewery. Things they will always have more than anyone else: Lederhosen, waitresses than can carry six Steins at once ( you do NOT want a handjob from her), horses the size of small train engines. Sh!t was freaky. And strangely arousing.

Glad to hear you’re going to be back soon Chief. Wooo.

  My apologies.

Posted by George James Malik

Why? The credentialing authorities are holding out like Susie Carpenter the night she wouldn’t finish the deal because of stomach pain but then you find out that she was faking just so she and Jenny Olen could run a tag team on that fuching prick Jason Schu….ok. Yea. No worries George. We’re just hoping it works out.

Fuch Susie.

I definitely need to go PacNW sometime then…

It’s a great beer destination for sure!  But then, as you’ve discovered, so is San Diego County and as Sully points out, so is Colorado.  Hell, even Michigan has something like 70 beweries now.  Good time to be a beer drinker

Blonde German women with awesome cleavage and big strong hands.  I’ve seen this.  Oddly enough there’s no cover charge, although tipping is generally a pretty good idea.

The Typing Monkey has something about James’ new mask.

As for the nifty new design on the mask, Howard replaced the purple octopus and clock, the hands of which pointed to the numbers the Red Wings have retired, with the image of Marvel Comics supervillain Doctor Octopus aka “Doc Ock.” Known also by his official name, Dr. Otto Gunther Octavius, Doctor Octopus wears mechanical octopus arms with industrial-strength pincers that intimidate opponents in the same way Howard hopes to intimidate shooters with his squared-up style of goaltending.

“I’m excited to get the season going, here,” Howard said. “We’re going to have just a terrific team and I’m just ready to get going, again. I feel good. It was a long summer, so you got to take a little more of a break and just let your body heal up, and rest and really not think about things.”

I’m sad. The retired numbers clock was beautiful.
