In one of the greatest upsets in Live Blog sponsorship history, it was J. Geils over Aerosmith by a single vote.
And believe you me, I had a whole series of Perry/Tyler lyrics lined up.
It’s an O-6 Live Blog bitches, with some help from Peter Wolf. I’ll be joining you a little late, taping the game and catching up with you all around 1930.

Anyone got a feed for the game?

First post….
The mating call of the Pittsburgh Pride Festival. That, on top of predicting an OT game, earns you a nice, warm cup of GTFO.

Heater broken in your train car Gabe? You seem unusually grumpy.

Ken and Mumbles?? Where the HELL is Mick??

I’ve been in a bad mood for weeks. When the Wings win one convincingly, I’ll cheer up. Maybe.
Murphy seems oddly lucid tonight.

werd up fools…I’ll try to be here but family is all around and my awesomest nephew is sick.

Crap. I spoke too soon. First slur of the night trying to pronounce Boston. It’s “BOS-TON”...not “BOSSHN” Murph.
Posted by Gabriel from San Diego, CA on 11/29/08 at 07:04 PM ET
F*ck OSU.
I’m Andrew, from Ann Arbor. That is all, Okie.
Wait, what? Oklahoma State who?
Evening all. Thanks to NASN, I’m still watching Florida vs. Florida state. They’re flashing a message that they’ll roll to the game soon, but right now I’m still watching Tim Tebow dance like an idiot.

This game could be ugly. I’m not expecting anything amazing from them tonight.
Posted by Tyler from Arizona on 11/29/08 at 07:07 PM ET
Ah, that’s better.
Milan Lucic and Zdeno Chara—separated at birth? As an extra comparison, they both make me nervous. Gonna have to look out for them.
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor from Fortress Europe on 11/29/08 at 07:07 PM ET
F*ck OSU.
Saw UofM dimantle WMU 2 weeks ago. Unclose.
We need a drinking game.
Take a shot each time Murphy screws up?
Posted by The Hurricane on 11/29/08 at 07:08 PM ET
Andrew, as an native Michigander and an OU alum, I say Fu@# to both OSU!!
Evening!!!

Alto reed plays better then that dude did!
Posted by hankyspanky40 from Michigan on 11/29/08 at 07:08 PM ET
Damn!! Hoss is a beast!!
Buckets, how do you miss that??
Posted by Jeff OKWingnut from Quest for 12 on 11/29/08 at 07:09 PM ET
Amen to that, Jeff.
Alto Reed rules. He would have gotten that puck to the net a millisecond earlier, resulting in a goal.

Alright…I’m not a huge fan of the Bruins wearing a 3rd jersey on an original six matchup…they look like…every other fricken team that has a black jersey.
Posted by Gabriel from San Diego, CA on 11/29/08 at 07:11 PM ET
B’s are starting slow—couple of real good shifts for the Wings.
Posted by Jeff OKWingnut from Quest for 12 on 11/29/08 at 07:13 PM ET
Drapes takes an elbow to the head and…oh wait, they called it?
Posted by Gabriel from San Diego, CA on 11/29/08 at 07:13 PM ET
Gabe, I’d compress that thought personally:
...I’m not a huge fan of the…3rd jersey
It’s another whorish way to fill the coffers of Gary’s new NHL.
I toad jew. Chara makes me nervous for that reason.

Agree completely. Having said that though, I have to admit I’m a huge fan of the Winter Classic Wings jersey.
Posted by Gabriel from San Diego, CA on 11/29/08 at 07:16 PM ET
B’s PK is impressive. It’ll be interesting to see if the Wings pot a PP goal.
Do the B’s have a shot yet??
Posted by Jeff OKWingnut from Quest for 12 on 11/29/08 at 07:18 PM ET
Sure, but that, being a replica of the one worn way back in 1926, is hardly a ‘third jersey’ in the non-Original Six sense of the term.
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor from Fortress Europe on 11/29/08 at 07:18 PM ET
Time for Stewie or Kronner to lay someone out.
Posted by Gabriel from San Diego, CA on 11/29/08 at 07:18 PM ET
Gabe—Ward laid himself out for us!!!
Posted by Jeff OKWingnut from Quest for 12 on 11/29/08 at 07:21 PM ET
Well they’ve started strong…like to see something come from all these chances.
Posted by Tyler from Arizona on 11/29/08 at 07:21 PM ET
Wow, we are getting all up in Fernandez’s grill.
Message received from Uncle Mike, I guess.
And now NASN is showing a replay of Timmy Tebow. Hopping around like Tom Cruise on Oprah. Man.
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor from Fortress Europe on 11/29/08 at 07:22 PM ET
Roger that Andrew,
0 SOG for the B’s
DET has 7 SOG, really buzzing the B’s (pardon the pun).

Are you suggesting that the Lightning’s “BOLTS” jersey somehow fails to represent the tradition and rich history of such a proud team?
Posted by Gabriel from San Diego, CA on 11/29/08 at 07:25 PM ET
1st frigging shot is in the net—Damnitall
Lil’s left standing in cement
Posted by Jeff OKWingnut from Quest for 12 on 11/29/08 at 07:26 PM ET
Ugh. Finally, we allow them a shot on goal, and it’s a doozy. First-shot score.
What goaltending controversy?
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor from Fortress Europe on 11/29/08 at 07:27 PM ET
This is why I’m in such a bad *#$%@& mood.
Posted by Gabriel from San Diego, CA on 11/29/08 at 07:27 PM ET
Man, and I was just telling Megan the other day that Lilja’s having a good season. That was the return of Lilypads. And was it just me or did Kronwall play that wrong? I’d like to see it again.
Posted by Matt Saler from Grand Rapids, MI on 11/29/08 at 07:27 PM ET
I have a feeling we just lost the game.

Didn’t you get the memo, Gabe? Apparently Tampa is the new Hockeytown. Suck it, Minneapolis and Boston.

What goaltending controversy?
Indeed—
Posted by Jeff OKWingnut from Quest for 12 on 11/29/08 at 07:30 PM ET
Okay, replay exonerates Kronwall - mostly. He played the pass, but could have taken the lane away better.
Posted by Matt Saler from Grand Rapids, MI on 11/29/08 at 07:30 PM ET
First Chara, now Lucic.
Yeah, I’m nervous.
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor from Fortress Europe on 11/29/08 at 07:30 PM ET
Took me twenty minutes to catch up via DVR. Just in time to see the goal. I think, up to that minute, this was some of the best hockey we’ve seen from the Wings this season.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 11/29/08 at 07:31 PM ET
OMG no more pictures of the Bernstein kids!!!!!! EYE BLEACH!!!!!!!!!!
Richard’s lazy eye makes me vurp.
Posted by The Hurricane on 11/29/08 at 07:33 PM ET
Considering we had five shots on goal in less than the first trhee minutes while they had none, agreed. That’s why if this turns out to be one of those nasty-ass playoff first rounders where we dominate everywhere but the scoreboard, I’m going to go find a puppy to kick.
