Starring Reputah The Beautah, Direct From Boston, It’s A Live Blog

In one of the greatest upsets in Live Blog sponsorship history, it was J. Geils over Aerosmith by a single vote.

And believe you me, I had a whole series of Perry/Tyler lyrics lined up.

It’s an O-6 Live Blog bitches, with some help from Peter Wolf.  I’ll be joining you a little late, taping the game and catching up with you all around 1930.

The way the last few games have been going, we’d get just as good play from Happy, Sammy and Maltby in front of Lebda and Lilja.

Hell, the other combos aren’t working…might as well put all the stars on one line and see what happens.  Fil could use the increased ice time from moving back up to second-line center.

I don’t even have the energy oranger to curse anymore.

Makes it worse by what the NESN announcers just said: “The Bruins giving Detroit a taste of the medicine they’ve been shoving down the throats of the rest of the League for the last decade.”

Forget throwing up in your mouth, that’s full-on hugging the porcelain throne shit right there.

Jesus…other teams have had so many long shifts in our zone this year, making us look like chickens with their heads cut off…it never happened this often…and we always used to be able to do that to other teams…but not this year.

I can’t wait till the hangover is over.

Last year, Gabe, the shot totals we’ve put up the past two games would have seen us win comfortably.  Instead, last game was a one-goal win, and we’re rapidly cruising toward a lopsided loss here.

Maybe we don’t light the torches just yet, but hell, who’s been slipping mickeys to Jim Bedard?

3 weak goals of the four. It’s time for Ozzie to back up his words from the other day and put this team on his back the next few games to allow them to get on track.

The offense has been too fancy for the last four games, and it results in odd-man chances for the other team. I get the feeling this team is losing confidence in their goalkeeping, and as a result, they are pushing too hard up front.

Finally, it is time for Uncle Mike to show us something. Get the D more organized and get the forwards going to the net. The talent is still there, so where else can the onus fall?

In their current state, this team cannot compete with the likes of Anaheim, San Jose, Vancouver with a healthy Luongo, or the Bruins, Habs, and Rangers.

Well.  That blew.

This team needs a turnaround and FAST.  The guys who just got big contracts, and those who are in a contract year, it’s time for them to EARN that money (and that includes the coach).

And I don’t ever want to hear Cheli’s role in this team questioned again.  You think he’ll let them forget this game?

That’s it then.  NIght all.

Happy Birthday Todd.  I am still working through a hangover from a good buddy’s B-Day yesterday.  I didn’t even have to buy them as the sexy bartender kept pouring tequila shots for us all night.

I know I’m getting old when I don’t even have to get drunk to have a hangover.  That and wanting to give the Wings’ kids a piece of my mind following another lackluster offensive output.  Almost took a bat to the DVR after 2 goals in 3 shots.

Ahhh..there’s nothing like taking a big fat SH$# after a big Thanksgiving Day meal. I usually try not to take mine on ice though.

At this point, I want either Ozzie OR Conk to step up and play solid hockey; they don’t need to lead the way or carry the team. Just SOLID hockey. Make the stops you’re supposed to make and a few above average ones.

Hudler is scoring fine but he does too many fly bys. The Lang mentoring is showing and I don’t like it one freakin bit. I see that kid do a fly by rather than a direct start stop, I’d make him do suicides all practice long.

Later.

Ugh, at least all of you were watching on TV…I paid some big bucks to be sitting 10th row at the Garden for that crap. Despite outplaying the B’s offensively, goaltending was pretty sub-par by the Wings…although Manny Fernandez played the game of his life and got lucky with a couple posts. Also, the WOO thing after every time they score may be the stupidest gimmick I’ve ever seen at a hockey game and I’ve seen a fair share of them.

Long drive back to northern NH and I’m going to bed. Awful game to watch but it’ll feel better when order is restored in May…when the Wings will be in the thick of the playoffs and the B’s will be on their couches filling up on chowdah.

Yeah, since his little media tirade and having that one week off to work on his game, he’s continued to give up 3 goals in his last 3 starts and 1 weak goal in relief.  Ozzie, just stop with the proclamations about how things will get better in 2 weeks and making guarantees about the playoffs because the more you try to convince us through the media the less you’re convincing us on the ice.  If you don’t buckle down and play better your words ring all the more hollow.

That game just sucked.  Once Boston had the lead, they were content to just trap, trap, trap the rest of the game.  Wings showed some life but a little too late.  Oompa-Loompa needs more ice time.

My big beef continues, too many Wings around the puck at all times.  They need to spread out more.  What happened to our D over the summer?  This team frustrates the heck out of me….  I think they are missing Homer too as there was a lack of traffic in front of Fernandez most of last night.

Poultry up next.  Joy of joys.  Pronger…maybe that is just what the Wings ordered?

It’s a Julien special order.  The Bruins problem last year was they didn’t hit people enough to make it very effective, now they’ve got that bigger physical presence to make it work and the skill guys surrounding them to make people pay for turnovers.
