Stress Train Is Full: Draper Hurt

I know it’s only a little after noon. Go ahead and start drinking.
Wings GM Ken Holland was just interviewed on TSN and said he is more likely to do a smaller trade than a major move. Holland also said center Kris Draper won’t play tonight in Edmonton due to an undisclosed injury. That means Mark Hartigan will dress in his spot. Dominik Hasek will back-up Chris Osgood tonight, so that means Jimmy Howard was sent back down to Grand Rapids.

At this rate the Wings aren’t going to limp into the playoffs…they’re going to be wheeled in on a gurney.

Edmonton fans should get a ticket discount. They didn’t pay to see the Grand Rapids Red Wiffins!

I was just thinking the same thing Baroque. Maybe Detroit should be renamed Griffin’s East!!
Ridiculously bad day!!!
Campbell, arguably one of the premier Defensemen in the League to the Shark.
Richards, arguably one of the best Centermen in the league (he has the $7 mil contract to prove it) to the Star—who are already playing terrific hockey!!
Now all we need to make the day better is word that Hossa has signed with the Poultry!!!
Glad I got my club car ticket early!!!

What are the chances Drapes isn’t playing because he got traded?
Posted by Gabriel from San Diego, CA on 02/26/08 at 12:41 PM ET
Hmmm…
Can’t be Ottawa - they picked up Lapointe from Chicago.

If you haven’t already, look at the banner for the site for the Brazilian Red Wings fans. They modified it to account for the injuries. It’ll make you chuckle.

Funny how Hossa hasn’t shown up on the radar, and neither have the Wings—just saying!

I just can’t work today…I’m fetal. I’ve gone beyond rational fears and am now worried TSN is going to report “Detroit bolsters their injury-depleted blue line by trading Pavel Datsyuk to Anaheim in exchange for Chris Pronger.”

TSN: Foote on his way back to Colorado? Holy crap…we need to bring Fedorov back…this could be epic.
Posted by Gabriel from San Diego, CA on 02/26/08 at 12:57 PM ET
I think it’s a conspiracy. Both Colorado and Detroit have been lacking in attendance, the league has been desperate for a new rivalry to take the place of the Detroit vs. Colorado rivalry years…
The league is looking to add some sizzle.

Bite your tongue. I would shoot myself. Multiple times.

Wonder what happened in Columbus, though. They seemed pretty interested in re-signing him - even as a mentor for the youngsters instead of selling him off at the deadline for rebuilding pieces.

Okie, that’s about the only thing I’m hanging onto right about now.

Fedorov to the Capitals. Interesting.

ANDREW!!

Interesting.
Indeed. With Huet from Montreal, that team is looking much better.
Montreal clearing room for Hossa, maybe? Just behind Ottawa, better goaltending (even relying on the 20-year old Price), maybe they are planning on making a deep run?
(And Jokinen hasn’t been mentioned much, either. I’m still hoping for almost nothing - just depth moves and guys to stop dropping like flies.)

There went my Fedorov dream. Sigh. Ugh, the old Avs are back together…Still waiting, I know Kenny will do something.

man and i am going to the game tonight, hope there are some players i recognise left on the roster

ANDREW!!
Sorry, I’m only dealing the primo stress pills for a roster player, a prospect, and a first-rounder. With half the team injured, yeah, they’ve become that valuable. But I’ll deal you a can of paint thinner for Shawn Matthias.
At this rate, we may have to shoot most of the roster and bring in Secretariat and the bottom half of the field that ran the last Kentucky Derby.

Draper’s out…half of the team is sharing sets of crutches, McCarty seems to be the last Griffin in Grand Rapids…let’s stay positive…Hasek’s back!
Well, I tried.
