Update: 2310.  St. James checks in with a quote from Lidstrom.

Wings trainer Piet Van Zant specified the injury was to the joint that connects the sternum to the clavicle. In past seasons Kronwall has been sidelined by a fractured sacrum, torn knee and broken leg.

“It didn’t look good for him the way he went into the boards,” Nicklas Lidstrom said.

Update: 2251. Some more of the Diggers are chiming in, while other Diggers appeared to have stayed home.  Khan(!) has a bit here.  George Malik, not a digger..good on ya, has even more here.  Helene St. James still hasn’t made good on her promise to udpate and that makes me sad. 

Ted Kulfan?  Still hanging on to his post-All Star Game euphoria from Monday.  Take it slow Ted.  Gonna be a long second half.

Update: 2233.  Anti-Digger Bruce MacLeod:

Coach Mike Babcock said after Wednesday’s win over Phoenix that Niklas Kronwall will likely be out for at least a week with a shoulder injury. Kronwall suffered the injury when Craig Weller checked him into the boards shoulder first. Babcock speculated after the game that Kronwall has a separated shoulder.

“We’ll know more tomorrow,” said Babcock. “Nothing you can do. I’ll get a chance to look at someone else now. We’ve got some kids in the minors in (Jonathan) Ericsson and (Kyle) Quincey that I wanted to look at anyways. We’ll find out what kind of depth we have.”

Update: 2230. The emperor reports that Uncle Mike referred to it as a “slight separation” in his postgame presser.

As most of you know, Niklas Kronwall made his annual trek down the passageway of pain tonite, down to the Wing room, injured again.  How badly?  Not sure yet.  Ken Kal (and Ken Daniels) said it’s a left shoulder injury.  Helene St. James promises updates later tonite. 

Not sure if this specific link will take you to any aforementioned updates, because the Freep doesn’t operate that way, but here you go.

Khan(!) guarantees updates as well.  Tick tock.

why god why…. these are the kinds of sadnesses that create bad poets.

We should get him to see Osgood’s psychologist. I swear he thinks he genuinely deserves to get hurt at this point in the season; only explanation I got cause the universe can’t be this unfair.

And optimistic Babs, I luv ya, but I don’t want to test our depth; I want to steam roll me some Duck.
