We’re going early and I have my reasons.
With a win tonite, the Wings head home with 6/10. Still...the most depressing, disgusting, hazardous-to-your-pets road trip any of us can remember.
Noted.
Nobody cares what the rival bloggers are saying, or the MSM. Nothing would bring more joy to more people than a disastrous Detroit season.
But the bandwagon is getting light and the time is coming. You’re either in or you’re out. There’s a difference between being a passionate fan who takes losses personally, and being a “Wing fan” who seems to literally enjoy the struggles of the past month to confirm your own agenda. Read that again if you have to. Blasting the Wings for poor play is one thing and it’s expected. Reveling in it behind the facade of being a “real fan” is bullshit.
Nobody’s being banned from this site. That talk is tiresome. But when the Wings turn this around, we’ll see who climbs back aboard. When it’s no longer easy to pretend you know more than Mike Babcock, we’ll take a look back to October and see who stuck and who fled.
These Wings have given us a lot of amazing memories for much more than a decade. They deserve the benefit of the doubt and a lot of frigging rope.
Those who stay will be rewarded. I know this. Do not give up on this team.

Hell Bells, I’m old enough to remember Mr I. giving cars away playing “Score O” to get fans in the seats.
Yes, bitches, I remember when “The Joe” was a new barn, hell I remember when they tore down Olympia. I remember many seasons of the Dead Things. The Wings were awful, for a long friggin time.
Chief is right, the Organization does deserve some slack. They have been the standard of excellence for quite some time.
But I won’t be shy about the bitching and moaning. Fuch, when I can perceive errors, they must be really friggin bad.
But I’m all in, come hell or high water.

I remember watching Reed Larson scoring back to back goals, from each point, to give the Wings a 4-4 tie against the Nordique at the last game at the Olympia.
I have been through hell and high water as a Wings fan. I am a fan for life.

I liked the early games when I lived in Phoenix. I could get to bed at a decent hour. Hockey at 5 in bed by 9.

Which is exactly why I haven’t said all that much about the Wings’ difficulties of late. There’s nothing like a sports team crisis for people to “send messages” of the type that say, “Hey, look at me!”

I never doubt the dedication among the regulars here. We have memories longer than Rosby’s draft year, as we were fans since Sid was suckling at Gary’s tit.
Let the flavours of the month come and go, I am here to stay. I literally got into fights in Toronto over the Wings. Especially when the Leafs were in our division. The ‘93 playoff loss, resulted in a fight with one of the biggest guys on the football team, as I had mouthed off incessantly when we were leading the series. The fight was a draw. I don’t back down, and neither will the Wings.
And TeamDub… stop that homo-erotic photoshop nonsense. There are appropriate places for that, and it certainly isn’t here. Keep that crap at Pen(i)sblog.
I can live without the Cup this year. It will be disappointing and painful, as always, if we don’t win. If anyone thinks the Red Wings will fade away into mediocrity they are on some hard drugs.
