Gordie Howe, Lifetime Achievement Award? Could it have gone to anyone else?
Lidstrom, Norris? Check. Legendary. 2nd Best Ever? Maybe. Maybe Better.
Datsyuk, Selke? Check. “Long speech, but English is little.”
Zetterberg, Selke? Denied, but with a big old consolation trophy.
Datsyuk, Byng? Check. There was no doubt.
Chelios, Masterson? Denied, but with a Cup, and still with a job...allegedly.
Uncle Mike Babcock, Adams? Denied, but there is no doubt, none, who the best coach in the NHL is.

I agree Chief, he might be the best ever, but Orr won 8 Norris, and changed the way “D” played the game.
Nick may not be the best ever, but he damn sure is a very close 2nd, and certainly the best this generation has ever seen.

The Alicia Keyes concert was pretty damn good, and she even gave the ‘Wings a shout out!
“I heard something about a hockey team in this town! The Detroit Red Wings! The Stanley Cup Champion Red Wings!”
Then belted out a song… ‘twas great.
Extremely personable.
The wifet forced me to pixelate her mug, something about zits or something… I no longer question.
I knew I shoulda worn my jersey…

Alanah posted a note from Shoalts at the Globe and Mail about Pavel afterwards answering a question about the Wings Cup party.
He said he remembered going, but not returning, you’d have to ask his wife.
