This Live Blog Will Move Eight Miles A Minute

Yep.  Back to Seger. Back to what we know, what we’re comfortable with.  What brings Tick Tock that similar level of comfort, that warmth?  Well, naturally…Chris Osgood.

USA Today

“We won the Stanley Cup with him, so he always had the inside track,” Holland said. “It’s been an inconsistent year for our team, and an inconsistent year for Chris Osgood. However, in the last month I think his game is where we need it to be heading into the playoffs.”

Holland’s lying, of course.  Osgood’s game is not “where we need it to be”.  It’s just not.  We’ve seen flashes of goodness (it’s never greatness with Osgood. Sorry, but it’s not.), but nothing so consistent that Holland views goaltending as a non-issue.

Whatever. Nothing we can do about it now.  It’s live and die with Ozzie bitches. And it’s a Live Blog.  Hopefully the 16 people with cable in Tennessee who are actually watching the game tonite shoot their sets out of frustration following a convincing reminder that Daddy’s serious.

Let ‘em keep talking about our goaltending.  I’m perfectly content reading two months worth of MSMers picking against our boys because a guy working on one for the pinky hasn’t been on top of his game all year.

I can’t liveblog tonight because I have derby practice. So I’m trying to set the Tivo but there’s only one feed. Does anybody know what feed they’ll be using? I’ll shoot myself if I have to listen to the Bubba feed.

SHOULD. If not, there’s a small pet or 2 that are going to encounter a premature final judgement.

Well, I set the tivo. We’ll see what happens. If I hear one second of Bubba when I replay it later, I may have to hurt somebody. Have a good live blog 19!

I’m praying for your sake that they give you the Detroit feed.  90% of the time, we get whatever’s coming out of St. Louis and on rare occasions, they’ll give us a Dallas or *shudder* Colorado feed.

Why do I feel like I’ve read that same exact post before?

Well, a win tonight has a pretty good chance of being a great win, considering the Predators situation.  They always play hard and will be desperate tonight…

I’ll also be missing the LB, but I’m hoping I actually get to make use of the full-game archive that I got for paying for NHL Gamecenter Live. Ever since I found out about this archive, the Wings have lost every time I have to work during a game.

Because come on, who wants to watch their favourite team lose? Especially after they get home from a long day at work. I want to use this, so come on Big Red Machine, get it done!

If he can maintain his Top-10 positioning through tonight’s game against Nashville and a pair of weekend contests with Chicago, the Wings will be the first team to have three players (Nick Lidstrom, Brian Rafalski) in the top 10 in scoring amongst blue-liners since the 1974-75 Montreal Canadiens’ trio of Serge Savard, Larry Robinson and Guy Lapointe.

Nice work by the Diggers, eh?
