Aloha. Here’s the wager with the PensBlog girls. If the Genitalia-less flightless birds win tonite, I’ll be writing the game recap for the geniuses who frequent the C-blog. Vice versa. When the Wings win? You’ll be reading the prose of Charlie and his sorority sisters here tomorrow.
It’s a live blog, bitches. Your even-keeled and objective commentary is welcome.

Icing on Pittsburgh and they just went to commercial. WTF?
Posted by DetroitHockey on 11/11/08 at 08:30 PM ET
It’s so much better when they forget they shouldn’t go to commercial and they show about 30 seconds of play without commentary. I think VS and NHL Center Ice should offer that up as part of their programming. Commentary free coverage.

My first game was at the old Olympia sometime around 1975.
Lucky. I’m too young to have been to the Olympia, but the stories my father tells…
My first game at the Joe was in 1989…man, were the tickets cheap back then. I remember how huge the main concourse looked. I spent ages staring up at the concrete buttresses. First time I took a plane out of Metro (when I was young my father used to drive us everywhere) I thought the same architect had designed the Smith terminal.

I did see the Fab 5 of the Celtics play at the Garden, three times…. back when.

you jest, but not a bad idea if they jacked up the volume on the ice and gave it a tv-ma rating

Look at those long faces on the Pens bench. I heard a nutless flightless bird spine snap

Actually, I’d pay extra for that. It’d be just like being at the game but the beer is cheaper and there are no lines for the bathroom. Should I get nostalgic for the Joe pissers then I’ll just piss in my bathroom sink.
Posted by clemshady from Greenwood, SC on 11/11/08 at 08:35 PM ET
The wife just said “Who was that with the Hull move?” Yeah, stick in the air for about a week waiting for the puck, that’s Hull’s influence right there.
Posted by DetroitHockey on 11/11/08 at 08:35 PM ET
Anybody know who the new arena announcer is? Where’s Budd Lynch?
Posted by Jennemy of the Skate from putting the b*tches in the box on 11/11/08 at 08:35 PM ET
Datsyuk had his stick in the air (no, not an Enzyte commercial) for about five second before that puck got to him.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 11/11/08 at 08:35 PM ET
That was only the second goal Datsyuk has EVER scored in the NHL with a slapshot.
Posted by VooX from Behind the Bar in the Hasek Club Car on 11/11/08 at 08:36 PM ET
hahaha if you got real nostalgic you could piss in the corner for two days before hand to get just the right smell
Posted by rwingscup19 from Dallas on 11/11/08 at 08:36 PM ET

Noticed that as well - by the time he got it I didn’t think he’d get that good of a shot off.
It helps having Homer in front casting shadows.

You may be onto something. Although, I’m pretty sure no one would ever come watch a game with me at the house ever again. Ha!
Posted by clemshady from Greenwood, SC on 11/11/08 at 08:38 PM ET
Don’t forget to sweat in there for about five days beforehand…gotta get the odor just right.
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor from Fortress Europe on 11/11/08 at 08:38 PM ET
zetts is having a great game. i hope he gets rewarded for it.
Posted by rwingscup19 from Dallas on 11/11/08 at 08:38 PM ET
if Pav’s one times it on one knee, that’s Brett living vicariously
Posted by MOWingsfan19 on 11/11/08 at 08:39 PM ET

Might have had other things to do today, he’s a WWI vet if I remember right????
Posted by MOWingsfan19 on 11/11/08 at 08:40 PM ET
i remember how great it was to go to the joe as a kid and piss in that trough, felt like you were breaking the rules. like pissing outside.
Posted by rwingscup19 from Dallas on 11/11/08 at 08:40 PM ET
Hully doesn’t need to live vicariously through anyone—he’s having the time of his life alternately stuffing and running off his mouth down in Dallas. What a character.
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor from Fortress Europe on 11/11/08 at 08:40 PM ET
the mullet totally banged her. or at least sexually harrassed the crap out of her

Yes you’re right he is… it’s just that this isn’t the first time lately that I’ve heard the new announcer but I hadn’t heard anything about him retiring or anything.
Posted by Jennemy of the Skate from putting the b*tches in the box on 11/11/08 at 08:42 PM ET
Sorry, Chief, for sullying the thread into comments about the wonderful aroma of the Joe’s pissers. Y’all can’t take me anywhere, evidently.
