Instead, I’ll say this: the Ducks can suck it.
And they can suck it all summer.
Granola bitch Niedermayer can retire. Selanne can go home to Finland and exchange international text messages with B. Lang about high fashion.
And the punk ass bitch Corey Perry can go straight to hell for all I care while Chris Pronger goes back to YEStyping with his elbows on his wannabe blog.
It’s been seven years since I felt so satisfied after a Wing series win. Not seven years this June. Seven years to the day Patrick Roy got laughed off the ice at the Joe. And I can’t tell you how happy I am that the winning goal was “controversial.”

0500 this morning I’m making coffee in my skivvies. Oh shut up. I know the image isn’t pleasant. I’m setting the scene. Making coffee and still a little...foggy...from last night. I start thinking about the game and next thing you know I’m standing in the middle of the kitchen pumping my fist in the air like a frigging lunatic.
0530 and I go to kiss the sleeping wife goodbye. I tell her this, “I’ll always love you but it’s easier when the Wings win.” I’m certain she appreciated it.
0545 driving through Old Town Alexandria. Top down on the Jeep. It’s raining and I don’t even notice it. Singing at the top of my lungs. AC/DC “Girl’s Got Rhythm”. At a stoplight next to what has to be a 58 year old woman with bleach blonde hair. I don’t even notice her until I’m singing the part about a girl with “backseat rhythm”. In. Appropriate.
0600 and I’m almost to work. Raining harder and it really doesn’t matter. Turn Sirius to channel 14, Classic Vinyl.
Opening strums of “Night Moves.” Un. Frigging. Believable. All I could do was start laughing.
I make no excuses for the mood swings. None. If you don’t understand them you should probably leave. Hell, if you don’t understand them you’ve stopped reading by now.
Now for this.
I thought fans of the Ducks were among the most talented when it came to planting their feet firmly into their own mouths, but the Detroit Red Wings’ fans stepped in to prove me wrong.
While fans of the Red Wings have legitimate reasons to be proud of their team, 11 Stanley Cups doesn’t give them the right to talk out of their backsides.
Guess what fu**o? 11 Cups gives us the right to talk however the hell we want. One Cup doesn’t mean dick. It means nothing. You’re nothing more than the Lightning. One Cup and done. But that didn’t stop you did it...AL?
The internet’s a glorious invention isn’t it AL? Some of the things you’ve said, AL, are going to live on forever because I’m gonna make sure they do.
If Tuesday night’s performance was indicative of the Red Wings’ Game 7 mentality, they should have stayed at their Disneyland Resort hotel instead of flying back to Detroit.
As bad as things went on Tuesday, the Red Wings on Wednesday were among the few people on earth who can fly into Detroit and actually enjoy the view.
How was your view bitch? Enjoy it? Come on back.
Corey Perry went after the guy who was most vulnerable. He knew Rafalski was injured, so he pummeled him. From behind. He knew Rafalski’s not a fighter, so he went after him. Like a little bitch. At the same time Scott “Captain” Niedermayer looked around quickly. Glanced to see if the refs were watching, as if that would matter, then slammed his elbow into Pavel Datsyuk’s face. Like the cheapshot piece of shit he is. Oh, senile old Stan Fischler can call you the “best player in the league”, but we know better. We’ll take our Captain, thanks. Retirement awaits Scotty. Of course you won’t announce it yet. You’ll make your team wait for a few months, take a half season off, screw with their cap hit...because that’s what captains do, right?
The poster boys for scum, that’s the Poultry. And I mean scum. Dirtbags of the highest order who try to play themselves off as “gritty”. Wrong. From the coach to the captain to the sasquatch to Perry to Brown to Wizdoucheski? They play a BS brand of hockey and they’ve been exposed for what they are. Good riddance bitches.
Gary was in the crowd last night to witness some of the worst officiating we’ve seen in a horribly officiated series. And he must have been proud. You’re damn right I blame Bettman for it. You’re god damn right I do. Pronger’s assault on Hossa? In front of the ref? How the fu** is that not called? How is there NOT an agenda Gary? Hudler’s interference? From his knees Gary? You’ve been there enough you know how impossible that would be.
The Ducks. Carlyle, that whining little girl. Their media. Perry, Niedermayer and Pronger. They can all suck it and suck it from the tee box. They can suck it from their porches on a Sunday afternoon while the Wings play in the Conference Finals, for the third straight year. They can all suck it and Gary.ass can join them in a circle of suck while the Wings unleash hell on our little brothers from Chicago.
We told you. We told you and told you again. This is not a team to be trifled with or to try and intimidate. This is a team of character with players who thrive on assholes trying to mess with them between the whistles.
You whined about your short summer after you cheated your way to your single Cup. Remember? Well, no worries. You got another long one coming bitches.
Seriously. Any member of the Anaheim Duck organ-I-zation who would have some crazy reason to be reading this? If you’ve made it this far?

OK it was a country club back then. But in 2007, we were meant to be the ones, we were meant to beat the Sens. Even without our #2 and #3 dman. When Rob Niemandmayer pushed Hasek into the net with the puck and the goal stood. Karma is a bitch, eh? (Game 2.) When Saddam scored that gametying goal with Datsyuk off for a phantomcall. (Game 5.)
Class. My ass. Chelios was my hero for denying that bunch of assholes of the handshake. You do not shake hands with thugs and cheaters. You despise them. And when the opportunity comes, you slay the dragon.

Red Wings fans should take delight in the win, as a win. There are also many respectable postings pointing out how our team had to fight to the limit to overcome the Pronger dirt. I am proud, I wear my loyalty to my team on my sleeve but you will never hear me acting like a Ducks fan.
If Ducks Fan behavior is what is expected out of those here then I guess I will just continue reading but not commenting. Thanks for explaining that to me.

Geoff, consider this the dark side of wings fans if you wish. Consider us as a nice balance to the organizational class the Wings have and we’re all thankful for. None of us are going to toss anything on the ice that doesn’t have 8 tentacles, but there will be verbal abuse.
Take it or leave it. We’re quite comfortable with the juvenile attitude. We revel in it.
Hell yes the Ducks played a good series(despite certain events), no one is denying that. Most of us are even capable of mostly level headed analysis from time to time, and if ya search around here, you’ll see some of that scattered in with the oh-so-fun-name-calling. But part of what makes being a fan so frigging awesome is bragging rights.

It is possible to be classy and mature some - even most - of the time; but everyone needs to cut lose with a “suck it, losers!” once in a while.
Gloating all the time is serious jackassery.
Gloating for a bit when your favorite team beats a team that you consider a bunch of whining, cheap-shotting, gutless punks who are a waste of the oxygen used to power their worthless metabolisms - nothing wrong with that. (Unless, of course, you wander onto their site and gloat when they are at their most vulnerable. Those people should be publicly disembowled with plastic sporks for their breach of internet ettiquette.)
If you like the tone on other sites, fine - hang out there. You may even find some of us with our grown-up voices in the same places. But this is our turf where we can indulge in the catharsis of pointing and laughing at a beaten foe, because sometimes you just need to do something fun before the real world and all its mundanity returns.
This is our home. If you can deal with it, stay - you don’t like it, leave - but either way don’t tell us to change to suit the image you think we should have everywhere, not just on more polite or “respectable” sites.
I am incredibly proud of how well the Wings played, and thrilled that they managed to beat a team that took out the Sharks without a great deal of trouble, and was giving them fits. I am also impressed with how well Hiller played and can see why Oilers fans want to throttle Kevin Lowe when they think of the rumours that Getzlaf was in the mix for the Pronger trade, but Burke said “no way,” so instead of insisting Lowe said, “okay, fine, how about Lupul and Smid?” But I’m also happy that the Ducks season is over - and despite their best efforts to beat up on their opponents if they couldn’t (or even if they could) just beat them. Freaking bullies.

Mirtle’s got a great stats comparison of the final four teams up. Check out which is the best team defensively of the remaining four. Yes, four games against Columbus helped us out, but the numbers put us head and shoulders above the competition. The PK % is still a bit frightening, but if we can stay disciplined and continue to take the fewest penalties, I really like our chances.
Of course, I really liked our chances before looking at the numbers, but it’s always nice to have something else to back it up.

All right, Chief, I’m here. I’ve read redcootie’s two liveblogs on his site and now I’ve just spent about three hours catching up on everything in here wonderful...even that f*cked up atrocity of a Game Six in Anaslime.
So I was on that ship bearing down on Santa Catalina Island and stressing like a mofo with the alcoholic quivers. My first drink on the ship? A Bahama Mama - a f*cking fruity, loopy sonuvabitch umbrella-tiki-dressing Bahama Mama. I knew the hockey gods would be scorchingly angry with me for not drinking the regular stuff. The worms started squirming under my skin that Monday night and I swear, Chief, I swear I tried to make up for it with the Jameson’s and the almighty goodness of the Guinness.
It was too late.
It costs me $0.75/minute in a pay-as-you-go-along plan to use the ship’s Wi-Fi internet access. All I waited was the score and I’ll catch up to the details later. So for Game Six at around midnight or so somewhere in the blackness of the Pacific, I logged on to nhl.com. Took me damn near forever to get on. Damn! But there it was, “Ducks Roll a 7.” I promised the hockey gods I will make up for the fruity cocktail and I will brutalize my disposition just to get back into their favors.
Wednesday was supposed to be our stop in Ensenada. Instead, I spent damn near five hours drinking a Jameson’s and Coke listening to two of the most talented guitar players I’ve ever heard on any of the past cruises I’ve taken. One was a Filipino and the other was an American. I thought about all of you, A2Y 19, so I asked for Seger (one song), Van Morrisson, Lightfoot, and Johnny Cash. Well, I’ll be damned. They. Were Awesome. Just awesome.
So Thursday morning, after some serious partying in the “disco,” I woke up to a chilly “Fun Day At Sea.” I walked 19 laps on the jogging track, grabbed some grub, and did 19 more laps. I wanted Game Seven so badly. Because Friday was Debarkation Day, I stayed sober the whole day. I did enough penance for the stupid choice of drink on Embarkation Day. I paid for it dearly enough.

Thursday night of my cruise, I knew the game started at 4:35pm/pt. I waited until about 6:30pm/pt fully expecting this Game Seven to have gone into overtime. I logged on too soon. It was 3-3 with a bout 6:45 to play in the third. I dreaded it...deeply. It is SO rare for the Wings to win in OT at the Joe. Really rare. It seems like we’d rather win on the road in OT.
9:00pm/pt. I logged for the last time. The Wi-Fi took soooooo looooonnnngg it was killing me to pieces. When after about three minutes, it finally connected and immediately, I logged onto nhl.com.

Help me, I was out of control! I saw “On a Cleary Day” and then “Wings oust Ducks.” Oh man...I was exhaling like it was the deepest breath I’ve ever taken. Finally, revenge for ‘03 and ‘07.
I’m not superstitious but upsetting the Hockey Gods just isn’t in the cards for me anymore. It’s Jameson’s and Guinness from now on.

I’ve seen this clip about fifteen times today. The look on Whitney is priceless. He really got the double whammy. Hopefully, we’ll get to his former teammates soon enough.
