crap 5 on 3 and no goal. Nice hold in on the boards by Rafalski. sens have some Mo going from killing that penalty.
Posted by hankyspanky40 from Michigan on 10/11/08 at 07:29 PM ET
Wonderful—they kill it and get a boost from it…and seem to be spending a fair amount of time in our end now. Argh—this should not be a tie game right now.

Crap maltby took a penalty, maybe slashing and it sounds like he will be taking a sen off with him but they still may get the Pp. crap!
Posted by hankyspanky40 from Michigan on 10/11/08 at 07:35 PM ET
Yeah, but Malts back at his agitating best—this is stuff we haven’t seen from him since before the lockout. I’d still like a strong PK here, though.
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor from Fortress Europe on 10/11/08 at 07:37 PM ET
That’s not a giveaway. That’s a takeaway.
Posted by Gabriel from San Diego, CA on 10/11/08 at 07:38 PM ET
WOW unreal save by Ozzie or what? But another hooking yuck. Ozzie has been stellar tonight!
Posted by hankyspanky40 from Michigan on 10/11/08 at 07:39 PM ET
Ozzie working miracles out there, but now Draper’s off. But now an Ottawa player penalized for interference on Lilja. You’re right there, HankySpanky, it’s a real circus out there.
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor from Fortress Europe on 10/11/08 at 07:40 PM ET
This game had good flow until all these dumb penalties. yes andrew i was thinking Malts is back to his old snarly self.
Posted by hankyspanky40 from Michigan on 10/11/08 at 07:41 PM ET
Maltby is at his best tonight.
All these penalties make we want to puke.
Posted by monkey from here to Timbuktu on 10/11/08 at 07:41 PM ET
CRAP four on four goal Sens. Folino makes a good move on Fil and Kroner.
Posted by hankyspanky40 from Michigan on 10/11/08 at 07:43 PM ET
That has to be the third hit post tonight. Stupid Foligno goal.
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor from Fortress Europe on 10/11/08 at 07:45 PM ET
Boy Dats loves to hit and i love to watch him. Such a tough little cuss! Second over 2-1 sens. Gotta have a strong finish to this!
Posted by hankyspanky40 from Michigan on 10/11/08 at 07:45 PM ET
Foligno wrastled out boys like ....whatever it is that hicks wrastle down…
Anyway, down one going into the third on the road is ok. At least because we’re playing our hockey.
BTW: MTL——6
TOR——1

I am trying to decide if I should start Chad Johnson or Roy williams on my fantasy football team tomorrow. Neither one rocks my boat.
yes that move foligno made was like a wrestle mania thing.
Posted by hankyspanky40 from Michigan on 10/11/08 at 08:01 PM ET
At this point, I’m hoping the non-Flying Circus experiment comes to a quick end. I just don’t think it’s working chemistry-wise to have Z and Dats split up. The whole team seems out of sync, and we could really use the energy and dazzle of that line to feed off…
Whatever, these guys need to wake the *#$%@& up…
Posted by mudshark from Divetown, Colorado on 10/11/08 at 08:10 PM ET
we are playing better but ya know we can play even better, kinda ticks me off. Nice little chance in front of the net and of c ourse homer is there. Gotta love Homer! No goal yet it will come. 30 shots for us 20 for them.
Posted by hankyspanky40 from Michigan on 10/11/08 at 08:10 PM ET
This game is killing me. We can’t seem to get back to simple. Too many long passes.
Posted by Sharkbaiter on 10/11/08 at 08:14 PM ET
How bout a shorty…
Posted by Sharkbaiter on 10/11/08 at 08:14 PM ET
Another stupid penalty,( although draper did get a nice slash in there) this has to frustrate the players. They usually look at the early part of a game and figure out what the refs are going to call and what they will let them get away with. But this game has been all over the place as far as calls.
spending to much time on Pk and it takes some of our best players off the ice. stinks!
Posted by hankyspanky40 from Michigan on 10/11/08 at 08:14 PM ET
sens penalty four on four we have to capitalize now!!!!!
Posted by hankyspanky40 from Michigan on 10/11/08 at 08:16 PM ET
I dunno, it might be too early to give up on the split linws—they’re decent if not dazzling, and maybe they’ll start to really gel soon and get to the kind of production we’re expecting from them. That being said, these experiements do tend to come to an end early in the season and the Circus is reunited—Hank & Dats play just too well together to ignore. They have the kind of chemistry that only comes along once in a blue moon. Regardless, I wouldn’t mind seeing the Circus reunited on PPs. We’re holding our own. Patience, grasshopper.
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor from Fortress Europe on 10/11/08 at 08:16 PM ET
And just as I post that, who’s together on the ice for the power play?
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor from Fortress Europe on 10/11/08 at 08:17 PM ET
What a great chance for z but gerber made a huge save. dats did some great work to set it up. still on PP 11:21 left in the third.
Posted by hankyspanky40 from Michigan on 10/11/08 at 08:18 PM ET
And of course, as soon as the Circus is reunited, they get one of the best scoring opportunities of the game. Gerber had to be razor-sharp (joke intentional) to keep that out of the net.
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor from Fortress Europe on 10/11/08 at 08:19 PM ET
Actually, I suppose that should say “they CREATE one of the best scoring chances of the game…”
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor from Fortress Europe on 10/11/08 at 08:20 PM ET
so nice of gerber to decide to get his game together once the wings hit town. Hossa ‘s line had a nice shift, they gotta get a goal sooner here.
Posted by hankyspanky40 from Michigan on 10/11/08 at 08:21 PM ET
Hey guys, remember that warm fuzzy feeling we used to experience. What was that called again?
Posted by Osrt on 10/11/08 at 08:21 PM ET
MULE! You magnificent bastard!
Top shelf, baby!
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor from Fortress Europe on 10/11/08 at 08:24 PM ET
MULE!
I clapped my hands so hard on that goal my hands are burning.
Posted by monkey from here to Timbuktu on 10/11/08 at 08:26 PM ET
That was weird—everyone waiting for the whistle because they didn’t know where the puck had gone. Could have easily gone into the back of their net.
So…aggressive contract push for Franzen starting soon?
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor from Fortress Europe on 10/11/08 at 08:28 PM ET
In a nice world, Hoss scores the next goal. His 300th. And turns all mainstream columnists back to kissing our hairy pucks…
sayin
Posted by Osrt on 10/11/08 at 08:32 PM ET
MULE! You Magnificent Deja-Vu Bastard!
Gerber just didn’t get enough of that…
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor from Fortress Europe on 10/11/08 at 08:36 PM ET
Why do I keep getting an error when I try to post
MULE!
Posted by monkey from here to Timbuktu on 10/11/08 at 08:36 PM ET
Here comes the pulled-goalie push…
Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor from Fortress Europe on 10/11/08 at 08:36 PM ET
MULE! I can’t freakin’ believe it’s the same player from early last season.
For the record, I think we need Macca or Downey in the lineup to deal with the Ruutus and the likes who feel free to take runs at Lidstrom.
Posted by lilja4ever on 10/11/08 at 08:38 PM ET
Is there a reason why I can’t post just
“MULE!”
Posted by monkey from here to Timbuktu on 10/11/08 at 08:38 PM ET
cleary tried a empty netter but no go so dats wins the face-off with 13.1 secs left. face-off in our zone again! yes we win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
