Joel Quenneville just can’t get enough can he? After years perfectly playing a specific role with two teams we’ve consistently and enjoyably destroyed…he’s been selected to lead “the next rival.”
Selected by who(m)?
We can assume can’t we? Sure we can. You know who it was. Scotty. And for that? You are still our hero.
Exactly. Back for a reprise? It’s Joel “Jody Girl” Quenneville, starring as…Wing Bitch.
Hence the post title for a game that doesn’t include Chicago. Don’t worry. I’ll be bringing it back.
On to tonite. An early beginning to the Live Blog, which I know you enjoy. I get DirectTV tomorrow. The day that all returns to normal after something like 16 months without hockey on a big fat screen. But tonite?
I’m still screwed. Hey, anybody got a link to a feed?

The Highlander penned his thoughts on the probable line combos:
Holmstrom-Datsyuk-Hossa
Franzen-Filppula-Samuelsson
Hudler-Draper-Cleary
Kopecky-Helm-Maltby
Hope to catch up with the “19” later tonite!! Bitches!!

Over/Under on Canucks’ shots on goal: 5
If the Caps held them to 10, I don’t think they’ll even see the offensive zone tonight.

Joel Quenneville just can’t get enough can he?
Specially after you let em go on that whole DUI thing last month…...ungrateful SOB!

Over/Under on Canucks’ shots on goal: 5
Are you nuts? Fabian Brunnstrom’s on fire! He’s going to put at least 15 shots on goal for the Canucks…
What’s that?
Oh…
Oh well. Enjoy the game tonight kids…I’ll be pointing at people in the crowd at Buffett imagining one of them is Rumbear.

Thanks Nate. You continue to rule.
Rummy, I plead ignorance. I was so far out of it I had no idea. I feel dirty.

Lidstrom owns ceremonial faceoffs. I’ve never seen him lose one.

No worries Chief, we all thought you wer ‘e going all Lady Byng on us.

Love how the nascar ads show more crashes and chicks in short shorts than actual racing.

I think Lids lost a ceremonial faceoff in Denver on one of their monthly “Ray Bourque Nights”. However, it was because he held his stick upside down in protest.

I’m liking the Helm, Kopecky(tsky), Maltby line.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 10/16/08 at 06:45 PM ET
Maybe its the feed, but this game doesn’t seem to have any pace yet. H/D/H almost made things exciting.
Posted by Nate A from Detroit-ish on 10/16/08 at 06:46 PM ET
Well there’s a shitty goal, but even that had no pace.
Posted by Nate A from Detroit-ish on 10/16/08 at 06:47 PM ET
2nd line acts like a PP, and suddenly we get one. I like it.
Posted by Nate A from Detroit-ish on 10/16/08 at 06:49 PM ET
Whats up Chief
Long time reader, first time poster.
Just wanted to give u a shout out from up here at NMU where we’re already drinking cuz Zetterberg’s out!
Posted by WildcatWingFan from Marquette on 10/16/08 at 06:49 PM ET
Ok, I’m on board. Sammy just proved he can’t play the point.
Posted by monkey from here to Timbuktu on 10/16/08 at 06:49 PM ET
another crappy goal, frick!!!
Posted by yzer19man from Chicago on 10/16/08 at 06:58 PM ET
That migh’ve gone off Kronner’s Krotch.
Posted by Nate A from Detroit-ish on 10/16/08 at 06:59 PM ET
Sammy’s passing is getting as sharp as his shots.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 10/16/08 at 07:00 PM ET
Sammy starts some shit, Franzen looks to finish it.
Posted by Nate A from Detroit-ish on 10/16/08 at 07:09 PM ET
This is not an exciting game. Not especially clean either. Babs got some barking to do?
On the bright side, Lilja has made some solid defensive plays.
Posted by Nate A from Detroit-ish on 10/16/08 at 07:17 PM ET
Hossa is pissing me off.
Score, you bitch. Zetterberg is out.
Posted by Tyler from Arizona on 10/16/08 at 07:17 PM ET
So, to recap, the difference-maker in this one was scored during some weird kind of time warp? How can Raffi go to the box if Homer scored before he committed the trip?
Screwy’s an understatement- that call re-wrote the friggin’ laws of physics!!! Welcome to Newton’s Four Law of Stupidity…
Hopefully we find our bal- er, focus, here in the second…
Posted by mudshark from Divetown, Colorado on 10/16/08 at 07:27 PM ET
Kopy gonna drop em one of these days?
My guess is no. Dallas Drake he most definitely ain’t. He’s just keeping Ville Leino’s seat warm…
Posted by mudshark from Divetown, Colorado on 10/16/08 at 07:51 PM ET
Either the Joe is really quiet tonite, or the FSN crew has the rink mics all over the place. Lotsa game noise and chatter.
And Cleary with the breakaway straight out of the box!
Also, where is everyone? Am I talking to myself?
Posted by Nate A from Detroit-ish on 10/16/08 at 07:52 PM ET
Chris Osgood’s your starter. I’m just sayin’. What a save.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 10/16/08 at 07:54 PM ET
Wizardry!
what a save. what is it about getting older and appreciating the saves more than the goals?
Posted by PaulinMiamiBeach on 10/16/08 at 07:54 PM ET
I was just waiting to see when you were going to ask yourself that Nate.
Posted by eyesris from Asheville, NC on 10/16/08 at 07:55 PM ET
Wow, nice replay Ozy. You’re forgiven for those early goals.
Posted by Nate A from Detroit-ish on 10/16/08 at 07:56 PM ET
Another great shift from the fourth. And a drawn penalty.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 10/16/08 at 07:58 PM ET
How are you going to send Helm back down if he continues to play like he is?
Posted by calquake on 10/16/08 at 07:58 PM ET
I was just waiting to see when you were going to ask yourself that Nate.
Ha, thanks for that. When I start muttering you’ll know the insanity has ratcheted up to full.
Hossa is not being the required trigger man.

Good question. You don’t.
