Watchin’ Clocks Spin The Hours Away…It’s A Thursday Night Live Blog

Joel Quenneville just can’t get enough can he?  After years perfectly playing a specific role with two teams we’ve consistently and enjoyably destroyed…he’s been selected to lead “the next rival.”

Selected by who(m)?

We can assume can’t we?  Sure we can.  You know who it was.  Scotty.  And for that?  You are still our hero.

Exactly.  Back for a reprise?  It’s Joel “Jody Girl” Quenneville, starring as…Wing Bitch.

Hence the post title for a game that doesn’t include Chicago.  Don’t worry.  I’ll be bringing it back.

On to tonite.  An early beginning to the Live Blog, which I know you enjoy.  I get DirectTV tomorrow.  The day that all returns to normal after something like 16 months without hockey on a big fat screen.  But tonite?

I’m still screwed.  Hey, anybody got a link to a feed?

We caught a skunk like that once…

Posted by Gabriel from San Diego, CA on 10/18/08 at 06:25 PM ET

Why would you WANT to catch a skunk… unless he’s invading your space.

It kept spraying our stupid dog…our very, very stupid dog.

Yeah, I saw a skunk stand up to a much bigger dog once…. pretty much a draw.

By the way…. what’s with the pages of comments?  Something new?

Pages are intended to increase load times. It’d be nice if you could set preferences to always load most recent tho.

I think we’re going to see a lot of teams working hard against the Wings this year.  In the long run that will be beneficial but IMO the Wings will lose more games this year than last.

Heya RB!  Sorry I missed you at the concert…by intermission, I was…no longer…conversive.  By the time he played Pirate Looks at 40, I couldn’t feel my fingers, much less figure out how to work my blackberry to send a text…

I’m just now starting to recover…

great show…

Hanky,  William Tell and Mule have goals.  Flip has 2 assists and Meech 1.

Sammy with a deflection off of Meech’s first shot, and Franzen…both within the first 5 minutes.

Love watching Datsyuk and Hossa on the forecheck.

Posted by calquake on 10/18/08 at 07:08 PM ET

Shoulda been Hossa’s first….. but I’ll take Homer’s 5th.

Evening all.  Just got woken up for work and thought that I’d poke my head in as long as I’m up, even though I don’t have the game on (not being carried and I’m too lazy/tired to grab a feed online).  I see that we’re winning…yet still no goals from Hossa.  How insanely hungry do you think he is?

Posted by AndrewFromAnnArbor from Fortress Europe on 10/18/08 at 07:27 PM ET

Ok, my net decided to crap out for 30 minutes. Ehat’d I miss? I see the score is 3-2 now.

Hossa really is getting the chances.  If he was creating and getting chances I might freak. Wings 5 on 3 for 30 seconds!

AndrewFromAnnArbor's avatar

Nate, did he get hurt?  I saw from the live update that he blocked a shot…

Aaron Voros takes a penalty, and it’s not for fighting.  Hrm.

Restoring the two-goal lead would be nice, as would keeping the PP clicking.  All our goals seem to have come even-strength.

Homer has improved his puck handling skills this year. I’m impressed.

Andrew, Lils took a shot off the right foot. Stayed pretty much stationary until the zone was cleared and he hobbled off the ice.

Hossa is pressing…. he needs a gimme.

Nate, he also seems to have improved his English a bit…his locker room interview was oddly understandable.
