Amazing what fun you can have when there are five days between games. Earlier today, whining Dive apologist Adrienne Dater posted on his Twitter account that he was going to “quit twitter” if he didn’t have 1000 followers by Thursday.
If I don’t get to 1,000 followers by this coming thursday, I’m done with twitter. Not worth the time otherwise
Naturally, that struck a chord. I found it odd that such a credible “journalist” as Adrienne would find it necessary to sob for readers and or “followers.” But that he did.
So, in a span of an hour at the thriving and bustling IwoCPO Twitter page...we created a little hash tag dealio, #unfollow@adater. Fun for the whole family. Posted a few witty ditties.
Then, about an hour ago, it got interesting.
Ready?
I know you’ve got my back out there, Avaholics, and I have a favor to ask: follow me on twitter. My handle is adater (imaginative I know), and by getting me to 1,000 followers by Thursday, you’ll not only make me feel good, but you’ll make a bitter Red Wings crank blogger out there feel really bad. Who’s with me?
At last check, I’m up to 823 followers. A couple days ago, I put out a tweet saying if I didn’t get to 1,000 followers by Thursday, I’d quit twitting. As many of you know, I have a sarcastic side, and I actually meant the tweet as a joke.
But some stuffshirt Wings blogger by the name of “iwocpo” from the site “Kukla’s Korner” took it as a personal affront (this is probably the same tough guy who likes to make fun of somebody’s mother and sister and a guy who almost died from a sucker punch by one of his Old Wings players (You know the one, Mr. It Is What It Is) and has started an “unfollow” campaign on me). Yawn.So let’s make it a contest, shall we? Let’s show him the full force of this blog and shut him up for good (I can’t hear what he says anymore anyway, because he’s on my block list).
Follow me on twitter and let’s let Mr. Iwocpo cry in his beer, just like he did when Duchene beat Ozzie with that 50-footer to the far post the other day.
Now, as a result of that? Little Adrienne’s followers have skyrocketed from 823 to 891. Awesome. But that’s not the only reason. Oh..no.

Ok. Considering Dwayne Keith Klessel’s reputation, and then Dater’s as a self-promoting whining hack? It’s no coincidence that they’ve joined forces.

In case you hadn’t seen or heard, Adrienne had a bone to pick with Bubba recently over on the Versus hockey page. ‘member this?
It’s a tough thing to say, but it needs to be said: the Predators should get the heck out of the NHL. They’ve been a charity case team the last few years, needing revenue-sharing money from the rest of the league just to stay operable.
And the thing is, they’ve had a good team in Nashville! They didn’t make the playoffs last season, but came close and made it a few times before that. Barry Trotz is one damn fine coach, and Nash might have the best young defenseman in the game in Shea Weber.
Not a whole lot different than what we’ve said over the years. Except, considering Dater’s a Dive Digger…and a lollipop one at that, well…it’s hypocrisy at its finest.
Not the first little battle we’ve had with Adrienne and probably not the last. But, the bottom line with Dater is that you never have to wait long for him to start sobbing…whether it’s about his own personal demons, writing about them for sympathy rather than to educate…or if it’s just to sell books. A few tears are the norm.
Follow Adrienne. Get him to 1000 by Thursday. Do it for him. Him and Dwayne.

Read through his blog and I’m surprised the keyboard still functions from the all the drool that is likely falling out of his mouth as he mindlessly pounds away.
It’s that “as he mindlessly pounds away” part that gives me the giggles. 
But, seriously folks, I think we have to cut Adrienne and all of the Dive tweeties a break here. They’re in unfamiliar territory this year and they’re trying to cram as much fun as they can into the short period of time that remains before they implode and start making early tee times for next April.
Right now, the Wings look as bad as I’ve seen them in a long time. But the bottom line is, they’re not the Dive. That alone give me great comfort.

Dater is hilarious, trolls are even funnier, especially when they blur the lines between journalism and blogging to make a point.

Yes, I’m on Twitter and I’m on Facebook and I have a couple of blogs. But, really, I NEVER beg for people to read what I write.
