Wing/Dive Chat Tonite

The chat room will be open as usual this evening as Michigan “transplants” flood the Can in Denver on Gary’s Versus.  See you guys in there around 1955.  Also, Kevin Allen joins Sean Baligian on WDFN’s “Ice Time”, streaming live at 1930.

Not much for the chats, myself. Just wanted to toss in here that watching Downey bludgeon Laperriere to the ice was probably the most fun moment I’ve had while watching Wings games of late.

Hit him again. Please. Twice.

I had just walked into the house, and—for a split second with “Lappy” turtling—I thought they must be showing highlights of the Wings/Dive rivalry. Then, I realized it was #20 delivering the well-deserved beatdown, not #25.

But perhaps the best part was Downey’s quote RE: the hit on Lidstrom…“Looked like it was scripted out of the WWE. We can’t be running the superstars in our league. If you want to have a good clean hit, have a good clean hit. When the elbows are up when you hit a five-time Norris Trophy winner, arguably one of the best defensemen to ever play the game, it’s a joke.”
