Wings Win.  Happy?  Not For Long…

No, Todd Bertuzzi did not spend any time in Nigeria over the Christmas break.  Let’s put a stop to that right now.

But this is fun.

Grand Rapids Press

Mattias Ritola admitted he was a little surprised when the parent club Detroit Red Wings recalled him from the Grand Rapids Griffins on Monday.

Imagine how shocked the 22-year-old left wing must have been after the Griffins’ 7-4 loss to the Chicago Wolves on Saturday night at Van Andel Arena.

The Red Wings recalled Ritola again after the game, and he’ll be available for Detroit’s game at Columbus on Monday night.

Ok then, and here we go.  Diggers?  Gonna give us a hint as to who’s hurt?  I’m sure you’re all over this one.

Khan(!)? Nope.

McCosky? Nope

St. James and Sipple are nowhere to be seen. Some guy named Mark Snyder…nada.

The only reason we even knew to do a Google news search on Ritola is because our Emperor told us to in the comments of the LB.  Nobody else knows, cares or felt the need to wonder why Ritola is on his way back to the Wings.  Nice job.

It has to be an injury, doesn’t it?  Leino didn’t look good last night, but he was moving a bit more than usual.  Maybe in place of May?  Even if healthy, he’s bringing exactly nothing to the table.

That may be it.  Healthy for healthy.  Odd, I know.  But that could be it.  More as it develops(!).

About Abel to Yzerman

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977.  No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y.  Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation.  There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature.  Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
