Update 2129: Khan(!) had been dormant all day, but adds this.
Todd Bertuzzi will make his Wings playoff debut tonight in Game 3 at Calgary, replacing rookie Jiri Hudler in the lineup. Bertuzzi will play on a line with Robert Lang and Kyle Calder, bumping Mikael Samuelsson to the fourth line, with Valtteri Filppula and Johan Franzen.
Ted Kulfan reports Bertuzzi’s in, and…deep breath…Hudler’s press-box bound.

It’s madness… maybe Sammy has some negatives stashed somewhere?

Okay, who’s #3 and what the hell has he/it done with Lilja?
Wow.

Yeah, that was a stellar defensive play - old time hockey, take the body, peel the guy off the puck, then take the puck. Nice job.
I think so far Bertuzzi has proved right everyone who said the Wings shouldn’t have messed with what was working. He is totally out of synch, terrible with the puck, has no timing, is clumsy on his skates, and overall is making Lang look good
Every time Bert was on the ice, the Flames had a great scoring chance. Putting a cold player in was a horrible, horrible decision. I would have waited for the next home game to put him in - not the biggest game of the series, which is always game 3, and the first one on the road. Bad coaching decision all around, and if it costs us maybe I’ll dedicate tomorrow to harassing the Wings enough to give me 30 seconds on the phone with Babs

Agreed 100% Paul.
As much as I wanted to see 44 play, at least swap him for Lang or Sammy…
Why don’t they listen to us?

Nice phantom call against Markov = Calgary scores. He didn’t even touch the guy. When I turned the game on and saw McCreary dropping the puck I knew we’d have two opponents tonight - the Flames and the refs. Even the icing calls are being let in favor of the Flames at both ends.

Ugh. Babcock should read the blogs and listen to the fans.
Hudler - 9 min/game average, 2 assists, +2, 2 shots, no penalties
Samuelsson - 14.5 min/game average, 0 points, even, 8 shots, and a penalty
it’s not a glaring difference, but it’s a difference…in Hudler’s favor. I hate these “sit the young guy” decisions. it’s crap. I don’t care how old he is, how many years he’s played, what his salary is - it should be about who is performing. period.
