Welcome to the brilliance that only weary Wing fans can offer in the midst of a way West swing. Live blog will be confined to the comment section tonite. Remember my prediction: the hype that accompanied the Circus’ arrival in Edmonton can only mean an end to Hank’s point streak.

Oooh Gramps. You may see that again. I’ll give you full credit, of course.

You got that right Baroque, I think this is the first 30 minute period of the season.

A mis-spent youth. I read too much and over-developed my vocabulary.

Bubba’s getting waxed again. Down 3-0 in the second in Calgary.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 10/30/07 at 10:03 PM ET
They are the Flyers of last year!
Posted by BHinde from Toldeo,Ohio on 10/30/07 at 10:05 PM ET
Was that an EDMONTON powerplay?
Goodness, that was ineffective.
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 10/30/07 at 10:07 PM ET
Bubba, even more than the lockout, is Little Gary’s legacy.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 10/30/07 at 10:07 PM ET
The flying circus line doesn’t stop.
Posted by BHinde from Toldeo,Ohio on 10/30/07 at 10:08 PM ET
Unsettled ownership is never good. Any place I’ve worked, productivity went down the toilet when rumors of layoffs and such started circulating. The players have got to be sick and tired of being in the midst of being sold/moved/asked how they feel about being sold/moved.
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 10/30/07 at 10:12 PM ET
Wow, the 2nd period is finally over and it is still 2007.
Wings are looking a little sloppy, winning that 6th in a row is tough.
Rafalski already has 4 SOG…HE IS DUE

It doesn’t help when you dump all your star players either!
Posted by BHinde from Toldeo,Ohio on 10/30/07 at 10:14 PM ET
Hey Gramps, meant to tell you earlier. Great questions about why teams are allowed to fill a spot on their roster vacated by a suspended player. If the league really wanted to clamp down on any number of things, they’d institute that.
Oh, and Stephen A. Smith said on ESPN radio today that the NBA has a better reputation (in terms of player behavior) than the NHL.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 10/30/07 at 10:16 PM ET
Steven A. Smith is a loud-mouthed donkey-butt.
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 10/30/07 at 10:18 PM ET
That’s what an expanded vocabulary comes up with? Loud-mouthed donkey-butt?
...
I like it.

ESPN’s Pre-season power rankings:
1. San Jose
28. Columbus
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 10/30/07 at 10:20 PM ET
Yes, but they didn’t look like they would be last-season’s-Flyers level horrible. They lost too much defensive depth to deal with injuries. Missing Sullivan is hurting them, too.
Rough night for the home teams so far.

Dammit!!! Thursday’s my wife’s birthday. I’m thinking nothing says I love you like a twelve pack.

Shea Weber too.

A2Y not listed on FSN’s sites to check out? You’ll have to work on that.
Posted by Clark on 10/30/07 at 10:27 PM ET
Wow, Hank, all cleaned up…Has he abandoned that unibomber look?
And
Baroque, don’t you read hockeytowntodd?
Still waiting for your email.

or some zetterburg clothing!

I thought ignorant, knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing troglodyte—but I reserve that for exceptional morons. ![]()
Besides, I’m really lousy at cussing. My mom didn’t let my dad teach me any good words from his army days when I was young, and now I have a two-year old nephew so I can’t pick up any bad habits. He’s supposed to learn things like that from his grandfathers, like a normal kid.
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 10/30/07 at 10:29 PM ET
Did they list some sites Clark? I must have missed it.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 10/30/07 at 10:31 PM ET
Man, they let up on Datsyuk there. That could have been trouble.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 10/30/07 at 10:32 PM ET
In case anyone’s wondering, Edmonton’s 3-0 in shootouts this year.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 10/30/07 at 10:34 PM ET
They listed all the official sites. Zetterberg’s, Datsyuk’s, Downey’s, RWW (bastards), and Hasek’s company. I think there was another that I’m forgetting.
Posted by Clark on 10/30/07 at 10:34 PM ET
I can’t read every blog regularly, although I try.
...
Oh-oh. Sounds ominous.
I’ll catch you tomorrow from work. More reliable connection and my emails don’t get lost in the ether.

Dammit!!! Thursday’s my wife’s birthday. I’m thinking nothing says I love you like a twelve pack.
Add a bag of Halloween candy and you may have a winner.
Or be sleeping in the garage. One or the other.

hello alll!!!!
me no have tv :-(
Listening to Ken Kal and Paul…yay…
Looks like we’re dominating and the Flying Circus is doing its thing…
OK, so Paul’s trivia question: Who holds the Edmonton record for most PPGs and GWGs? His hint: they don’t have 500 goals in their career.
my guess: Kevin Lowe
Posted by srt on 10/30/07 at 10:38 PM ET
Figures, the day after I say the Central’s getting better and the bitter blues lose to Phoenix.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 10/30/07 at 10:39 PM ET
another clue: he’s retired.
Posted by srt on 10/30/07 at 10:40 PM ET
That would have been hilarious if Chelios scored there.
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 10/30/07 at 10:41 PM ET
Hey SRT. I guess you know by now that my prediction—the one where I said Zetterberg’s streak would continue tonite—came true.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 10/30/07 at 10:41 PM ET
I caught up on all 88 posts cause i’m a gangster like that…
happy to know he’s continuing but don’t want him to lose the “unibomber” look; don’t turn into a cranky Russian please oh please oh please…
Posted by srt on 10/30/07 at 10:45 PM ET
Oilers are looking ready good
Posted by BHinde from Toldeo,Ohio on 10/30/07 at 10:45 PM ET
This is a pretty entertaining period…almost makes up for the 2nd.
Posted by Gabriel from San Diego, CA on 10/30/07 at 10:48 PM ET
Man..Ken Daniels sounded all frazzled. Easy Tiger.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 10/30/07 at 10:49 PM ET
Although a goal or two or three might be nice.
Posted by Baroque from Michigan on 10/30/07 at 10:49 PM ET
Can anyone remember Roloson making a tough save tonite?
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 10/30/07 at 10:51 PM ET
You mean a goal or two or three for the Wings might be nice…right?
Posted by Gabriel from San Diego, CA on 10/30/07 at 10:52 PM ET
Just kinda hoping we get it to overtime.
Posted by IwoCPO from Sunny San Diego, bitches on 10/30/07 at 10:53 PM ET
Trivia: Glen Anderson.
Game: F*&^ overtime; come on Kopecky, we pay you for these situations…

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y.
