You Wanted Juvenile?  Oh, I’ll Give You Juvenile

I turn forty this year, real frigging soon. So, you know, I figure I’ll grow up then.

But not yet.  PensBlog asked me to preview the Dynasty.  I was happy to oblige.  A taste?

The core of Detroit forwards was talented before, as you’re all fully and horrifically aware. But with the addition of your boy, it creates the strong possibility that Detroit will average somewhere around 19 goals/game. Just from the two top lines. Offensively, I could make a case that this could be one of the greatest teams ever assembled.

As usual, I elected understatement as my literary device of choice.  Read the rest here, and thanks to Adam, Derek and Charlie for the opportunity to ruffle some feathers.

That is the most repulsively dark bitterly funny thing I’ve seen in, well, quite a while, hard to say with all the stuff we see on here.

RW…..That’s quite a statement from a guy that runs around with a pair of NVG’s at his disposal….

.....he sees everything!!!

But of course.

I give it three snaps up in a Z formation. Can’t really explain why other than to say it made me feel all funny inside, like climbing the rope in gym.

good morning A2Y. I love this time of the year. football hockey football hockey. so one more game and it really starts to matter.  I think I just need to see the real team together and playing. these games have been boring because the squads have been split but I understand the reason for such things as it is pre-season.  So many decisions still need to be made. will they tarde a forward or a Dman or both.  What will they do come trade deadline with such players as Samuelsson who is a UFA at the end of the season???? I was at another place where a few people are worried a bit about Datsyuk’s groin injury. well well lots of stuff swirling around in a fans head. Here are my thoughts.

Keep or part. The Sammy situation is interesting as he is a unrestricted free agent at the end of this season. I doubt he will be resigned because there are so many younger players, such as Leino, almost ready and pushing for the minutes up here. But I doubt he would be moved until trade deadline if he is moved at all. Lilja is both good insurance and has a very moveable contract in years at 2 and salary at 1.2mil I would trade him but who knows. Draper is a heart and soul player,  a leader on and off the ice, a core player but a role player. He is so good on face offs and that fits hand in hand with Detroit’s puck posession philosophy. Gotta win those face offs in your zone and out to get things flowing in the direction you want. now I could part with Lilja,or sammy or maltby. Maltby gone meand helm is in and he is ready. But what shakes out will be interesting. I think Meech has won out over Quincey in a huge way. Only question left to be answered is if Quincey is waived and claimed or does he have any trade value at all. I don’t think he has.

Yes I am concerned about Dats groin injury. He still has five days to rest it but it may take him a few games to get his legs in game shape and his timing. practice is great but nothing like game situations.

I’ve figured out the Real Time:

1) Go to the scoreboard on NHL.com which shows all of the day’s games and scores.
2) Find the LIVE game you want.
3) Find and click “Real Time” just above the scoreboard of the game of your choice.
4) What you should get for now is all of the features of the original Real Time with that depressing gray Beta background.

At least, that’s how it worked for me.
