Brassard Back

Derick Brassard to the lineup tonight after having flu-like symptoms.  Tom Reed said that he’s not 100% so it is likely that Manny Malhotra will still see some time on the goat line.  I’m just glad he’s back, we were really missing his spark against the Oilers.  Now he can go back to chasing the Calder!

Rusty Klesla is also out for the second game in a row.  While it is disappointing, we have Ole-Kristian Tollefsen that is able to come in and play, and when he has been in, he has been solid.

The Blue Jackets are facing the Edmonton Oilers, the team that traded away Raffi Torres for Gilbert Brule, who is now playing for the Oilers AHL team, he’s played in four games and has two goals and an assist.  The Oilers have won their last two games on the road.  The Blue Jackets do seem to play a little better at home, we’ll see how it goes.

Norrena gets the nod in net, and let’s hope the boys play around him, and that he puts up a good effort, as Leclaire’s return date keeps getting pushed back farther and farther.

In other news, Nikita Filatov is now eligible to play in the Juniors.  That’s great, but I highly doubt that the kid is going to be going to Sudbury.  The Jackets are looking for Nikita an apartment in Syracuse, and they definitely don’t need to be moving him around very much.  Filatov has been playing great for the Crunch, it doesn’t make sense to send him down.
