What a weekened! Friday I packed up and headed down to Nashville to watch the Jackets take on the Preds.
While I was down there I got to meet up with What the Puck and Forechecker, and of course some of my favorite Jackets fans!
The game was great, the Jackets had a chance to win being up 3-1 but the Jackets were IN Nashville so the Preds tied it up and then scored a fourth goal. Thankfully Williams tied it up, but of course the Blue Jackets lost in a shootout.
The game came with a huge loss on the opening faceoff. Kristian Huselius was injured, came back and then left again, and didn’t return to the game.
Mason had a tough night, and I’m sure the Nashville crowd had a lot to do with that. They’re brutal. Also, I love it, even if it is the enemy.
After the game, I had a night on the town, took about a 2 hour nap, got ready and drove to pick up a friend and drove to Columbus to watch the Jackets lose in OT to the Blackhawks.
This game was one of the most intense battles I have ever watched. I don’t think I even sat in my seat. The fans were outstanding cheering the Jackets on.
The Blue Jackets had chances to score, but couldn’t capitalize even if the puck was right in the crease. In overtime Kris Versteeg scored the game winner off Mason’s back.
Mason was pretty upset about it and didn’t come out when his name was announced as third star for the game. He played so well the entire game, I hate that we couldn’t get ONE goal for him.
Jiri Novotny is stepping it up, and at a good time. He was good in Nashville except putting him in a shootout? Really? He was great against Chicago.
The good news of this weekend:
We got two points out of four.
We are ahead of the Preds and Blues by four points. The game on Friday against the Blues in St. Louis will be HUGE.
The Ducks lost tonight so they weren’t able to catch up with us, and we now have a game in hand on them.
Nashville is a great place to spend a Saturday night!
The BAD news:
We lost Huselius indefinitely.
I hate losing to the Preds, especially when I am hanging out with a Preds fan. Maybe this should go with the good news, but I only got a “BOO you suck” once.
There are only THREE games left in the season. @Chicago on Wednesday, @St. Louis on Friday, and the Wild @home on Saturday.
More on everything else tomorrow, this girls needs to sleep before work tomorrow.

I never rubbed in the win once, did I? That’s right, I’m like the most amazing fan to watch the game with EVER.

MB - Tough loss tonight for you guys…but I definitely had a blast Saturday!
WTP - You did not! But you did stand and cheer loudly as Timmy sang.
