Commodore To Bust Out the Robe

It’s amazing how a little thing like your team making it to the Stanley Cup playoffs can change your attitude in a split second.

First thing I did when I woke up - grabbed the blackberry, and checked the standings, just to be sure that the little ‘x’ was there.

It was.  I think I may have cried some more, but that doesn’t matter.

All that matters is that we’re in the playoffs, and Mike Commodore is going to debut his robe in the dressing room Saturday night.

That must mean it’s playoff time!!

It’s been a long time in the making, and even now I can’t believe that the Jackets are now in the playoffs.

I think the first thing that went through most Jackets fans was Mr. Mac.  You knew he was up there watching and waving his hat as Nash scored the “biggest goal in franchise history” and as the clock ran down and the game went into overtime.  Man, I wish he could see how far this team has come.  I know he’s proud.

About the game:

The Jackets played the worst period of hockey I have seen them play in quite some time.  Then, after a good talking to by Coach Hitchcock they got things together, and were able to score two goals to tie it up.  Vermette and Williams to guys acquired by Howson, scored them.  The third period was tough, Havlat scored a third goal for Chicago, and then Rick Nash, scored the goal that tied the game, that got us the point that got the Blue Jackets into the playoffs.

In the shootout when I saw Tyutin I was on the phone, and I had my doubts, and before I knew it, the puck was in the net, and Mason stopped the third shooter for Chicago and the Blue Jackets won the game.

Tears were flowing at my house, and at my friends home as well.

Now that we’ve made it, there’s no turning back.  Big game tomorrow against St. Louis, and I hope for my friend Rachels sake, that we beat the Blues.

It’s a great week to be a Blue Jackets fan!!

Huselius should be back tomorrow night against the Blues, let’s hope so.  It’s time to get ready for something we’ve never experience before - playoffs!

We miss the robe!  We don’t miss Commodore’s selfish, lazy penalties, but that’s beside the point.
Congrats on making the playoffs!

Thanks for the congrats guys!  I hope the Jackets can make a series out of this, and not pull a Thrashers sweep and done deal.
