Dorsett, Legein, and Filatov..oh my?

Good news!  Derek Dorsett is back to practice.  That is great news for our hockey club, he brings a real passion to the ice, you can tell he’s thankful to be in the NHL, and playing with these men.  Passion is something that the team seems to be really lacking, so the sooner he is back, the better.  Unfortunately he won’t be back in time for the game tomorrow.

The Preds always give us a fit, but I will save that for tomorrow’s post.  Yeah, that’s right, I’m going for three in a row.

Here’s some more good stuff!

First of all, Stefan Legein was interviewed by the Fan 590.  It was a great interview, and pretty short, so you really should listen to it.

Keeping on topic with Stefan, there is another great article.  Here’s my favorite quote from the article:

“I’ve got my passion for the game back fully,” he said. “That was one of the things that I knew, going into this little break, that when I did come back, and if I did come back, I’d be fully committed again. That’s the way I’m looking at it. I feel good. I’m just ready to get back to the game and start playing again.”

I’m a huge Legein fan.  HUGE.  I was there when he was drafted, I watched him with Team Canada, I broke the news of his retirement…or hiatus, or whatever you want to call it, and now, I am watching him return.  I honestly couldn’t be happier to have him back.  Although, he is going to have to earn my trust back, as I am sure he will have do with his teammates, and I’m sure he will take some heat from them.  But, if he can deal with it, and show me and everyone else he means business.  He will be welcomed back with open arms.

In other news, the youngest player in The AHL, Nikita Filatov, will be playing for Russia in the World Juniors.  And more Filatov goodness.  There is a mic’d up segment, on the AHL’s website with Filatov.  There are also a bunch of other videos (by the way, thank you JMoon who left a comment about them and sorry it took me so long to get them up), here they are:

  * Mic’d up
  * Interview
  * All Access

The Dispatch also has a great article on the coaching.  It says they aren’t changing up the responsibilites.  Claude Noel took on the power play, Gord Murphy is in charge of the penalty kill and it’s going to stay that way.  Hitchcock says that changing it up would be the easy way out.  I will agree with him, only because he is smarter than me.

And, the Jackets are having one-on-one’s with Hitchcock.  I think this is going to be a *GREAT* thing for the boys.  I hope that Hitchcock calls them on their downfalls and they listen, and that they improve.  I guess we will find out tomorrow.
